Star Wars worked only in the first trilogy, where Jedi were monks with mysterious wisdom. Give them political power and the setting unravels into moral greyness. The pulpy origins of the franchise can't withstand that kind of scrutiny.
Star wars today is less good vs evil and more realpolitik between sides. The only reason the empire is evil is because they add scenes of unreasonable cruelty to try and force that perspective.
Not commenting on your post itself, nor voting on it, but iirc all the humanoid species are implied to share a common ancestor which got genetically manipulated and spread around the galaxy as “ideal” slave races by, among others, the Celestials and/or the Rakatan Empire, which is why they can generally interbreed
im sorry I upset your feelings by exposing how the homogenous empire was better than the shitty diverse jedi council. And what posts have i made that have shown that i have no idea about the topic im complaining about exactly?
The movies should stand on their own, not depending on hundreds of novels regular people haven't read and don't care about to explain away the plot holes
Of the ones on the left, Kit Fisto can breath underwater, Plo Koon can breath helium, Ki-Adi-Mundi has a binary brain allowing for parallel thinking often of opposing points at the same time, Agen Kolar was fiercely loyal to the Jedi as all of his race inherently are shown to be in the movies, and Saesee Tiin's behaviour reflected that of his race's homeworld essentially being a forever-tornado.
But then that requires actually knowing the characters shown that aren't the 3 everyone can name in the foreground.
The biology may be different, but SW still has the super common in sci-fi problem of aliens mostly looking and acting like humans with bits of rubber glued to their faces.
Having a recorded and civilized history reaching back far beyond the beginning of space travel,[4] their original homeworld forgotten, and early history of Humans was lost to their scientists in the depths of millennia. Whatever the original homeworld was, it was universally accepted that Humans evolved on one of the Core Worlds near the galaxy's center. Humans were among the few sentient species in the galaxy whose homeworld was unknown, the Ryn, Yoda's species and the Baragwins being some other examples.
The Jedi sat around saying what everyone could and couldn't do with their Force powers, abducted children, separated them from their families FOREVER, and indoctrinated them into their cult, acted like they were the most elite fighters in the galaxy but hardly made a dent against the Trade Federation's war machine, and basically pouted all throughout Palpatine's power grabs. Then they were all promptly killed by a bunch of disposable and almost mindless clone troops. They were revived decades later, only to be wiped out again due to infighting and their leader's own incompetence, while a functionally new Empire rose up under their and the new Republic's nose and retook the Galaxy. And they're nearly forgotten all over again.
Seriously, the Jedi fucking suck. Diversity was absolutely not their strength. In a way, Star Wars was accidentally based in that regard.

If we take the Knights of the Old Republic games as canon (which I do even though Disney doesn't), the exact same thing nearly happened. Just prior to the games, Revan and his lieutenants did what the council would not and ended the Mandalorian wars. And in response, the council basically disavowed (or worse) all of them and as a result nearly got wiped out then as well.
I don't know if it's bad writing or what, but the Jedi seem to be massive cunts in most if not all EU material. Of course with the 00s and onward when rooting for the villain became cool and edgy, they tried shit like the Acolyte and made it even worse.
Seems writers just couldn't figure out how to depict Jedi the way they were envisioned in the original trilogy. There, they were a mysterious ghost of the past who tapped into powers few really understood, and were so strong that having just one involved in any given conflict would tip the scales to the side he was on. But when it came to depicting the order in the flesh, no one could figure out how to make the Jedi powerful and respectable, but not too much that they could still be feasibly overthrown. Hence why we get them looking weak, incompetent, and maybe even a bit malicious in some ways. And when even George Lucas couldn't figure it out in the prequel trilogy, that just set everything in stone.
The jedi order, the religious /governmental/ military collection of jedi, was never a “good” thing in the Star Wars universe - the jedi orders, like the various sith empires, were always destined to fail because they never lived in balance with the force - this was Lucas’ point all along, especially in the prequels
Anakin was the chosen one, and he did bring balance to the force - by destroying both the sith empire and the jedi order
The Jedi are superficially diverse sure, but they are all force users. The Jedi becomes their primary identities. A Jedi is a Jedi. They are almost tediously humongous in everything except species.
Really? Huh, Guess I misremembered the timeline of the galactic senate. My bad. Still doesn't make a star destroyer war room into the empire's council, though.
The empire is extremely evil. Just because their council is white, doesn't mean they are good. White doesn't automatically mean good. But yes, the Jedi council seems like a joke. Because diversity is not a good thing. There would be constant bickering in the Jedi council. And their hands would be tied behind their balls.

You should, and kind of do, because it's yet another post by Telia showing he has zero fucking clue about the topic he's complaining about today.
Isn't that the norm.

Guess that's one way to explain why none of the sentient aliens actually act alien.

Except they look disgusting and make disgusting noises.
Sounds like someone forgot about Jar Jar.
Nah. He acted like a spergy tard, which is a type of human.
IIRC it was also a plotline in one of the star trek series.
It was, and also showed the writers' lack of understanding of evolution.
I don't know how canon it is but the place they came from is Earth?
Apparently not:

Battlestar did this plot well imo, it’s never really been important in SW
Life began out there.
Maybe it wasn't canon but I remember a story with Han going back to Earth looking for something and discovers the bones of Indiana Jones.
Technically Hell is canon because Han tells someone to go to Hell at some point in the movies lmao
“All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.”
The Empire got shit done.

People really need to watch the MTV clone wars series

This is literally the /v/ post about the LOTR tv series lmao
When does Darth Incelius say "Make The Galaxy Great Again"

That's a war room on a military vessel. The Empire's council is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBHLvNrZh9Q featured in this scene. "I love democracy".
That council never dissolved. They're still meeting, doing councilly things, organizing planets and trade agreements and diplomacy.
palpatine dissolves the senate at the beginning of anh
