Huh, where are you seeing that? I don't think that's been true for a long time now if you consider MAGA to be "the American right". Fuck corporations and shitty bosses. That said I'm not going to reflexively side with stupid worthless employees either. You euros are reflexively against business and making profits, hence your regulations that strangle job creators that you put in quotes for some reason below.
This is true, certain 3rd world countries like Sweden will do anything they possibly can to get in your way of doing something successful. Germany too, endless bureaucracy.

This guy is definitely very stupid, but I really doubt that they would have treated a decent, valuable employee any better.
We definitely have problems, but just because countries like France, Spain and Italy go to the other extreme, does not mean that it's great that you can be fired for any reason with 0 notice. At least, it's a trade-off. It probably results in more economic efficiency, but in my view that is vastly outweighed by the insecurity this creates for employees. There are European countries that have functioning economies while also protecting employees' rights, so it's not an impediment.
I hope he was planning to either be his own boss, or retire, after doing this.

I've only been fired once and it was over the phone after I had already gone home, and it pissed me the fuck off because I had to drive all the way back to turn in my ID so I got an extra days worth of commute for nothing.
It is. Obviously, this guy is a worthless sperg, but that doesn't justify bad treatment that they give out to absolutely everyone. The fact that he has a white beard and is working for a postal company at that advanced age suggests that he is not terribly well-off, so losing his livelihood at the spur of the moment isn't great news - and now he has even less time to deal with it.
