I mean that is an asshole's move to fire the guy at the end of his shift. You didn't have to take advantage of the man you intend to get rid off.
Is it? Because then you just go home, get paid for the last day, and don't have to drive in tomorrow.
I've only been fired once and it was over the phone after I had already gone home, and it pissed me the fuck off because I had to drive all the way back to turn in my ID so I got an extra days worth of commute for nothing.
It is. Obviously, this guy is a worthless sperg, but that doesn't justify bad treatment that they give out to absolutely everyone. The fact that he has a white beard and is working for a postal company at that advanced age suggests that he is not terribly well-off, so losing his livelihood at the spur of the moment isn't great news - and now he has even less time to deal with it.
How companies are allowed to treat employees in America is wild.

I mean yea, it's really shitty to fire him on such short notice but that doesn't change when it's still on the same day.

Could have been worse, he could have fired him right as he arrived, before he could clock in, making it a complete waste of time and gas for showing up.
People here are still detoxxing from pro-corporate BS because people on the right have been consuming propaganda about 'job creators' and that corporations are people (my friend) for decades now.
