I met a lot of resistance here and on c/gaming from people who were defending the degeneracy in BG3. Same excuses. "It's a choice bro." Some people were also trying to claim it wasn't degenerate, because you were given the option to not engage in that behavior. By their reasoning, the world we're living in isn't degenerate, because we can (currently, somewhat) refuse to participate. I never got a response to that.
Some people just have no control over their impulses and habits, and are clearly addicted. They'll make all manner of excuses to justify their addictions, and if you try to take it away or shame them, they lash out at you. It's sad. I hope those people realize what they're doing and can take control of their lives.
100% spot-on. I have only encountered a couple of normies in the wild who actually called out Baldur's Gate 3 as being woke outside of the Synthetic Man/Endymion channels. Everyone else defends it wholeheartedly.
The Left found their in-road. And if they accept the wokeness in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, then it's just another in-road to maintain a rapid slide into a degenerate society. Unfortunately, without a complete collapse, there is no return to normalcy nor any coming back from this.
It's only a legitimate choice if you can engage in the behavior or exterminate any character who tries to participate in said behavior. That's the two sides of the issue.
You're falling into the category of "it's not degenerate if we're given the option". You're tacitly, and probably unknowingly, arguing that the current world isn't woke, degenerate, and sinful, because we too are given the option to partake in the sin or not, to kill those who participate or not. No sane man would ever argue that the world we're now living in is righteous.
I guess we can argue the same with Veilguard then. Yeah the "I'm non-binary" scene is weird, but it's optional and you have to activate the side-quest yourself, so it's not woke either!
I'm really disappointed in Grummz right now. "It's not woke, guys. The gay sex scene is optional!" Are you serious, bro?
It reminds me of the discussions around Baldur's Gate 3.

The gay options were considered the least extreme, plus fantasy settings where women have rights are considered a valid excuse.
KCD is HISTORICAL FICTION, thus characters should drift from historical attitudes as little as possible.

The Black Hound is vaporware and the franchise would be stronger if it had stayed that way.

Sarcasm is fun!
Don't worry, guys. It's not woke except for all the woke shit.
Why are you disappointed in Grummz? He's one of the worst grifters on Twitter.
