At this point there’s no reason to even make a weak semi automatic rifle, just build your own fully automatic belt-fed machine gun, it’s the same crime. If you’re smart enough go build a guided missile.

When the crime of being late is the same as treason, then people will commit treason with swift abandon.

Somewhat relevant.

When the army becomes the police, the enemy tends to become the people.

It seems that he's essentially trying to take all semi-auto weaponry off the market. Combined with the previous handgun and OIC bans, this would leave anyone getting a PAL these days with basically shotguns and bolt-action rifles. Of course, anyone possessing the previously-banned items will now very easily be construed as criminals.

So many boating accidents, how unfortunate.

Why do people say this like it's a magic spell that'll somehow make police go away?

The same reason they keep saying that America's gun ownership is a magic spell to ward off tyranny. It's a security blanket that makes them feel better.

How do you think we got our independence?

Throwing insults like canadians? Nah we actually had to fight for it, and that woulda been dumb to bring knives to a gun fight.

Nah we actually had to fight for it

That's the thing, a lot of brain dead idiots think that owning firearms is some magic talisman that wards off tyranny, but it's actually the use of them that's key. And what do we see so many on the right do when tyranny rolls in? They calmly comply with law enforcement and get carted off to jail to suffer the whims of the tyrants of the current era. I don't see anyone out there actually using those firearms to ward off tyranny with the exception of the recent vigilante assassin.

But sure, keep propagating the message that guns are a magical bulwark without coupling it with the far less palatable message that you need to be willing to shed blood if you wish to keep yourself free. Anyone can buy a gun, but very few people are ready to kill someone.

The trouble with firearms is that there is no option below "lethal force" so when tyranny comes slowly and creeping you can' do anything about it because there is no response that would be justified.

Just like the New Zealand attack and the gun grabbing that came after it.

NZ and Canada are just following the precedent set by Australia (John Howard PM) banning semi automatic rifles after the Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania (which is worth researching as the official narrative is completely bogus).

Britain had hungerford and dunblane killings before that.

Except the mass shooting that all this is predicated on took place 35 years ago in Montreal.

The polytechnique shooting, perpetrated by Gamil Gharbi, whitewashed by the media, who had changed his name to Marc Lépine. ( North-African father, European mother )

The abomination in question

That was a seminal moment in the lives of many of my female friends... I never knew he had changed his name. And you're right, it was always the white quebecer Lepine. Wow.

Lmao or that mass shooting in nova scotia a few years back. Cops shooting up firehalls, cops shooting at people walking on trails.

I got to question, how many people were killed by the cops that day and not the gunmen, and they just didnt live to tell the tale.

Ol JT jumped on that shit quick to get some longguns banned.

We should really prolly figure out what went wrong so it doesnt happen again...

Fuck it, were banning the guns, perfect opportunity, cant pass this opportunity up.

Also the guy who killed cops and stole their guns a couple years ago. At least I think that's what happened.

Interestingly enough, Canada's OIC ban came right on the heels of Christchurch. Canadian media and the Liberal party both cited it as a reason to crack down. Almost immediately after the shooting, Trudeau kvetched about muh killing machines and a few months after that did the first round of bans. The entire commonwealth may as well be one country, because all governments are in lock-step with each other.

Almost like Tarant was completely correct to assume his accelerationist approach would work. Almost like it was pre-ordained or something.

the Government announced the prohibition of more military style assault-style firearms.

They couldn't shoehorn in one more "blank-style" description? How about super-duper-murder style?

The amnesty also provides a temporary exception for Indigenous peoples’ exercising a right under section 35 of the Constitution Act

Alot of illegal guns in Canada are smuggled through a Mohawk town that spawns across the border of Québec, the USA and Canada.

The Canadian government dosen't do anything about that because that would be racist. Honk honk.

Well, statistically speaking they ARE more likely to use them on other people than the real targets of the blanket ban, we can't be infringing on their right to do so.

Good. Canada should become the commie utopia they all want it to be. We have plenty of commies down here who constantly threaten to move up there. The more enticing it becomes for them, the better.

The Canadian Inuit Rangers are supposedly issued WW2-era bolt action rifles because they have a better chance of remaining functional at Arctic temps.

Emo Ontario and other disgruntled border towns should just join the US without consent of the Canadian government.
