You know, I'm not clear on it. I think it's legal under the first amendment to do that on a sign, but there may be some fight with the local government about obscenity that they might try and start anyway.
BS. Negro has never been “obscene”. The other N word is unless spoken by a black person. If this is a black church you cant even get them on “hate speech”

To be fair, if I spent my entire childhood constantly being made fun of for sharing the same name as the most famous basketball player in the world, I'd probably hate blacks too.
