Even if true, don't care. Every country should have nukes. Countries have a natural right to self defense too.

The only worrisome part here is the "US accuses" part; I'm much more concerned with that than the "Iran achieves nukes" part...after all, been there, done that. They "achieve a nuke" pretty much every year...twice in election years.

Eh, if they nuke DC or NYC they'd be doing us a favor.

The US is the only one who has ever used nukes in warfare, offensively or defensively.

Nowadays nukes are more defensive than offensive anyway; their value is that you can't be pushed around, and you can't be nuked yourselves without retaliation.

I have no - or at least very few - concerns with even Islamic countries having the nuke. They're pretty far away, I don't think they could do much anyway, and if they ever try we can deal with that then.

Counterpoint: We have some European frens on this board who are not far away from Islamic countries.

Additional counterpoint, even if a target is missed or far away the fallout lasts decades. "A nuke" isn't the thing people should worry about here, it's the intentionally made dirty bomb.

Maybe those countries should fund their own militaries and deal with it rather than demanding we use ours for it for once then.

correct. we should. we should kill every single one of your zogbots occupying our homelands then put merciless sanctions on your judeo-satanic empire.

Pretty much my thoughts too.

Maybe a certain unnamed country won't be so cavalier about assassinating Iranian scientists and officials now in their attempts to drag the rest of us into WW3.

Look man, they're just trying to stop the next baby Hitler. It might take millions of babies, but they'll stop The One, if only through law of averages.

Are you retarded enough to think the people who call us the great satan and chant death to America won't try to nuke us too?

the people who call us the great satan and chant death to America

They just hate us for our freedom, man.

I think we just need to pick a lane. If we're going to be the "policemen of the world," we should go in there and take over. Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, etc. You're all territories now, sit down and quit your bullshit.

If not, we should stop the decades long destruction of the Middle East, and try to normalize relations. I favor this approach.

I've never, and will never, say "Muslims and Arabs our are friends." What I will say is, Muslims and Arabs are over there. Let's stop importing them over here, and let's stop blowing up over there.

Yes, Iran hates us. But it's not an innate hatred. Let's stop being bastards, and see if we can repair relations. If they won't accept...we can take it from there. I'm not saying Iran is our friend, or there would never be justification for bloodshed. I'm saying I don't trust our current regime to handle it responsibly or morally. If the current power structure says war with Iran is necessary...I don't believe them.

This isn't about Muslims, or Jews, or anyone, at least for me. I want to try to normalize relations with our rivals across the board. I want better relations with Russia, with North Korea, with Iran, with China. I think we are/were strong enough, and could take that back, that we don't need to constantly fuck with everyone else.

They hate us because they're a bunch of goat fuckers who want to take over the world, and will absolutely nuke us if that's what it takes.

Oh, not because we've been bombing them forever, and couping them and everything?

Also, even if true...let them hate us...from over there.

Their wars of conquest started with the child rapist founder. They've never changed. They'll come after us, and believing they won't is retarded in the extreme

Remind me which group has actually provably attacked us, as opposed to conspiracy theories?

Seems like the snackbar is ongoing...

I'm smart enough to know that preemptively attacking other countries on the orders of rule16istan hasn't earned us a single ally in our entire history. If Iran is ever stupid enough to attack us directly, then we can do something about it. Until then, I want us to stay the fuck out of it.

That's how sovereignty works.

honestly, I don't trust them. the Middle East is full of bloodthirsty zealots from Israel to Iran. either country is liable to send a nuke purely on the grounds of "God wills it"

I feel like I could google how to make a nuke and get decent idea of it. This is WWII technology, it’s not ancient magic.

I believe the "secret" (really, the equipment is just heavily controlled) part of making a nuke is properly enriching the uranium to weapons grade.

▲ 4 ▼
– ModsAreAIDS 4 points 1 year ago +4 / -0

There is more to it than that. Every explosive in the casing has to detonate at exactly the same time to properly compress the core. This means taking everything like the length of each wire into account and delaying signals to specific sections so that they are timed perfectly. It is not easy to do.

If they are off by even a bit, it just becomes a dirty bomb.

But you are right that enrichment is the biggest hurdle.

It's easy to see on a geopolitical scale. All countries without nukes are not taken seriously by the USA. Only countries with nukes are given any respect. That alone should indicate to every country that they must acquire nukes to secure their sovereignty.

Imagine Iran nuking Israel, City of London, Washington DC and New-York City.

The horror. We'd run out of popcorn.

If Biden didn't give them tons of money, they probably would have had a harder time with it too.

Saying the quiet part loud are they. That Saddam did not in fact have weapons of mass destruction, and a going on 20+ year war was all for reasons we will never know, other than because sonny boy wanted to show his father he too could war just like his pappy?

When the government acts like a parent trapped by their child who wants their friend to sleep over, and asks the parent if they can while said kid is there, and feels pressured to say yes, that's just so pathetic.

Dubya just did what the intelligence bureaucracy told him to do.

And Sr. was part of the intelligence bureaucracy, so the Kuwait war was also deep state nonsense.

And the uniparty was entirely on board with all of it.
