I one time walked into a female only train with another male friend of mine when I was in Japan. We both just looked around at all the women staring at us and were just like uhh bro I think we're on the wrong train. Was pretty funny.
Ideally, we should allow discrimination. Female only trains shouldn't exist if they are government funded but neither should any government funded train.

There was a movement by men who didn't want to be falsely accused (during a spate of this being very common, accusing then demanding cash to make the accusation go away before the train hits the next stop), to make male-only trains. The proposition was shot down hard.

Giving women additional, exclusive resources is not "based."
If they had a women-only train and a men-only train, then perhaps it could be.
