I hate to sound like an Extremistâ„¢, but women and trannies seem to statistically make incredibly poor leaders, and should probably not be allowed any power whatsoever. Keep these weirdos away from the levers of power.
Also, check out Razorfist for more info on these things, including his livestream with Pardoe (Iron Age Attacks #1.) It's a good stream overall, with plenty of fun stuff outside of BattleTech too.
Have all of his videos on the subject
Rageaholic Battletech
God fucking speed.
Why not, though? Experience, reality, and statistics seemingly bear it out.
Think about it. In any moderated online space (YT, Twitch, Discord, Steam, what have you) who have you had more problems with...professed (it is the internet after all, and you can't tell) men, or women? Professed female moderators seem to always be sperging out, going on power trips, and acted entitled and demanding attention. Not saying 100% of them are bad but, holy shit, they perform much worse on average than male moderators, it seems.
I'm not calling for that sort of backlash. I don't hate women. I just recognize their (again, statistical, and some can overcome) failings. Women don't make good leaders. They're not equipped for it, and use the power to follow through with their grudges and biases.
It's kind of funny you accuse (and that's a stronger word than what I mean, but I can't think of a better one) of singling out women, when that's not exactly what I'm saying. I don't necessarily think "women" invaded men's hobbies. That's definitely part of it, but there's a bunch more to it. Culture as a whole has been turned against us, and women are one of the groups used to invade our holy hobbies. So I suppose it's technically true that women are invading men's hobbies, but that's a massive oversimplification.
In the end the statistics probably know better than you or I TBH. It's not just the obviously unstable ones who are unsuited to the level-headed impartiality of good leadership and it'd be far too arrogant to pretend we can tell at a glance which otherwise normal women lack the mental fortitude not to crack under the pressure. For every superficially normal woman who might qualify for a leadership role there's almost certainly an equally qualified man within arms reach who is far more likely to deliver lasting positive results.
There are far fewer leadership positions than there are potentially good leaders and in the quest to not be a dick to the few good women, you'll instead end up being a dick to the even better male leaders that would need to have their potential suppressed to pander to those women. Not only that but by abetting them you also play a part in everyone under them having to suffer the fallout if inferior leadership fucks up things for everyone or any petty games of favourites that may develop.
There's plenty of good men out there in need of a chance, you should never need to gamble on the B-list candidates.
I was just about to mention Razorfist's video as well until I read your comment.
It's a pretty insane but illuminating example of just exactly what kind of methods and tactics these fuckers have been using to weasel their way into company positions.
"She"? Really?
Yes. Unfortunately battletech is become full of faggotry. I just want to play with mechs man. But I think after this kickstarter I'm done buying cgl stuff unless they uncancer themselves.
I have never seen this happen to any corporation that went woke. Some might point to Twitter being bought out by Elon, but all he really did was cut off a few corners of the rot; it's still woke.
Any captured institution by the woke mob is a lost institution.
Admittedly, we do have a rather short frame of reference to see how things play out in the long run with this woke shit.
At the same time though they've effectively dug in and have fortified things not only with DEI funding but also with state (California), EU, and UN policy/laws as well.
And then beyond that, if a company was not only stupid enough to invite degenerates into their company, but actually let them weasel their way up to major positions, then it'll be even tougher to force them out and allow real fans to retake control.
There's a real possibility that the only viable answer is essentially a scorched earth policy on tainted companies, franchises, and IP's.
And of course all of this hinges on the overall cultural damage on younger generations not being so far gone that they're unable to develop a taste for actual quality work and art. (I'm usually not "too" cynical about this concern, but I'm not going to deny that it is a legitimate risk.)
I wish I carried an ounce of your optimism, but alas... I do not. Every time I venture into normie space and get a taste of what the gen-z types are eating up, content wise, it proves how far they have strayed... or rather, how far they have been led astray.
Many of them defend woke media, woke education, and woke principles. Only the ones who regularly consume manosphere content or purposeful anti-woke content have any sensibilities about them.
Sad times ahead, unless some kind of pivotal cultural cataclysm happens that wakes up a large part of the youth generation.
There has to be someone who is making a non-Woke BattleTech these days.
Not if the lawyers have any say about it, and their cash register always ka-chings.
Lawyers can't stop you from creating your own spin off. They can only prevent you from publishing & selling it.
I don't expect anyone here would be trying to start up their own physical print book sales or physical hobby model sales, though. The threat of legal issue is pretty much just a cope to avoid doing the work.
I'm not a BattleTech fan so I don't have a handle on the nuances of the setting, but it seems fairly straightforward to clone since the setting seems to only have one major conceit (big manned robots).
Creating a setting with some names-filed-off factions with new characters would be easy. For copyright-safety you can't use literally-the-same mech designs & names but there's enough mech designs and material out there from various properties that it would be very difficult to claim something is a infringement rather than a derivative work.
I mean, people have already done it with Pathfinder. No reason it couldn't be done for giant mechas.
Exactly
They won't. You can't even shit on the faggoty short story book that cgl did without pushback.
I think the right approach might be to wait until the tiniest political intrusion comes up and annihilate it, with prejudice, to make an example for the others.
It's all some tiresome...
these community managers are out of control.. and i have a feeling aside from consultant companies, game devs probably get info from community managers thinking they are the link between them and the fans. the community managers will ban all the dissenting voices, and hten when game devs ask community managers what people want.. they will say they want more gay shit or ugly shit.
War. War never changes.
My old LGS had people involved in this coup, I was black listed after my Gab (this was before I nuked it following the Gabocaust) was found and I'm kinda glad to not have to deal with them
They are parasites. Once Woketards take over a company, fandom, business, etc. whatever prior goals it had are abandoned. All future activity will be to further spread wokeness, until it dies (which is then blamed on the "fans" rather than the people who ruined it).
