Why not, though? Experience, reality, and statistics seemingly bear it out.
Think about it. In any moderated online space (YT, Twitch, Discord, Steam, what have you) who have you had more problems with...professed (it is the internet after all, and you can't tell) men, or women? Professed female moderators seem to always be sperging out, going on power trips, and acted entitled and demanding attention. Not saying 100% of them are bad but, holy shit, they perform much worse on average than male moderators, it seems.
I'm not calling for that sort of backlash. I don't hate women. I just recognize their (again, statistical, and some can overcome) failings. Women don't make good leaders. They're not equipped for it, and use the power to follow through with their grudges and biases.
It's kind of funny you accuse (and that's a stronger word than what I mean, but I can't think of a better one) of singling out women, when that's not exactly what I'm saying. I don't necessarily think "women" invaded men's hobbies. That's definitely part of it, but there's a bunch more to it. Culture as a whole has been turned against us, and women are one of the groups used to invade our holy hobbies. So I suppose it's technically true that women are invading men's hobbies, but that's a massive oversimplification.
In the end the statistics probably know better than you or I TBH. It's not just the obviously unstable ones who are unsuited to the level-headed impartiality of good leadership and it'd be far too arrogant to pretend we can tell at a glance which otherwise normal women lack the mental fortitude not to crack under the pressure. For every superficially normal woman who might qualify for a leadership role there's almost certainly an equally qualified man within arms reach who is far more likely to deliver lasting positive results.
There are far fewer leadership positions than there are potentially good leaders and in the quest to not be a dick to the few good women, you'll instead end up being a dick to the even better male leaders that would need to have their potential suppressed to pander to those women. Not only that but by abetting them you also play a part in everyone under them having to suffer the fallout if inferior leadership fucks up things for everyone or any petty games of favourites that may develop.
There's plenty of good men out there in need of a chance, you should never need to gamble on the B-list candidates.
