Ah yes. "Vikki." Because when I'm choosing my new, totally legit girl name, I'm totally going to go for the evil babysitter from Fairly Oddparents as a model.

My first thought was Vicki Lawrence.

At least Lawrence was a decent actress--and the greatest Pyramid player to ever live, which was why she kept getting brought back in the 1980s.

Is she related to Martin or Joey?

No, she's the one from Mama's Family, reprising a character she got cast as because she looked so much like Carol Burnett.

Hey now, my cousin's name is Vicki!

Also have several great cows named Vicki but they were named after my uncle's girlfriend.

UPDATE: @USWeightlifting has put out a statement defending the man who stole a women’s spot and took first place in a women’s weightlifting competition

https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1773836636490756543

That was fast! If only they blocked men from stealing women's titles as fast as they block critics on X!

2nd is clearly a lesbian but like 3rd also clearly a woman.

The women are smiling. They seem ok with it. USweightlifting is ok with it. Unless Libs is claiming women have no agency and are forced to go with whatever the mob wants... I fail to see a problem here. Not my battle.

After an entire childhood of watching women and girls invade every single boys space I ever heard of, I honestly don't care about women dealing with their own woke bullshit being turned against them.

A valid question, but weightlifting has always had its top stars looking fat, especially the men.

Serious question: Why is that? Strength I get, obviously, but why do the best ones have all that extra fat? I've always wondered.

Unlike bodybuilders caring about appearance, these guys only care about strength, so they don't go on cuts, its just about building muscle, so they are in a constant 'bulk' phase, which adds fat.

(that's an oversimplification, they do do some cut, particularly for weigh ins, like with boxing and wrestling you wanna be in under a certain weight to be in a particular category. But as a general rule I meant, there's more 'bulking' as compared to bodybuilding)

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

Fat protects muscle. Thick core muscle also makes your waist thicker, too. When bodybuilders are at their most "shredded" they are at their weakest - their muscles are very defined because they've shed bodyfat, but in that process shed necessary support and muscle mass as well. Look up cutting and bulking for more detail. Bulking is gaining mass, cutting is gaining muscle definition by reducing mass.

This is how hernias happen for anyone wondering what a weakness might be.

I think it partly has to do with caloric output (and therefore necessary input) and building up muscle mass.

Fucking lol, look at the numbers involved in that third image, every single lift blows the competition out the water.

Look towards the top. There's a Michelle who looks to be 12 kg(?) lighter, but lifted 13 kg more.

Michelle didn't fuck up any lifts, Vicki did, twice, including the heaviest of the first set.

First set also has a far more accommodating range for Michelle, going from 59 to 63, so only 4 extra (kilos?). Vicki went from 53 to 56 first, almost the entire range Michelle did, then again to 60 which was bottled.

Second set ends up being even more significant as Michelle going from 71 to 77 means an increase of 6 over 2 lifts, but with Vicki fucking up the first lift of 65 then doing it again for the second, jumping straight up to 71 for a +6 means not only the same increase but done over less time/lifts.

Also can't ignore the possibility like a previous time that some of these fuckups were intentional so it wasn't too obvious, and that the fuckups could be used to reason "See, it's not that bad!" as was the case with an Olympian competitor a while ago I think, who either failed so much he didn't score properly, or got such a low score it didn't matter. Of course his spot came at the expense of an actual woman who had been training for that contest for ages, but was pushed aside for yet another stunning and brave display.

That chick lifted 6kg more, but the dude fucked up his heaviest snatch.

Reject weightlifting. Embrace powerlifting. At least they just add up your heaviest lift and don't do some bullshit calculated score.
