Absolute clown world: Phoebe Bridgers: "Hating the 1975, I feel, is sexist.... Because teenage girls invented that band being famous." And this is from 2020, so BEFORE the Malaysia incident, I believe. Because men aren't allowed to dislike things, anymore. "Women most affected", once again. (archive.is)

Teenage girls invented music

My fucking god, Sean Connery was right, sometimes they say things that absolutely deserve a slap

No seriously, a lot of these problems could be solved by a couple 1950’s slaps across the face if this stupid shit came out of a woman’s mouth

I honestly think they'd appreciate it. Every group white men stopped oppressing hates them more for freeing them and lifting them up than they ever did when they were under the boot.

And they do things that deserve far worse.

Physically disciplining someone you care about isn't about abusing them it's about an immediate corporal punishment that also acts as a moment of instruction that they did something worth hitting them over. It's literally doing them a favor.

It's better to get spanked or otherwise physically checked as a punishment at times because people need to learn that other people they don't know might be crazy might be a bulldog who fights anyone, or an authority figure they need to respect.

I promise you, smacking your daughter for being a piece of shit every now and then and making a lesson on why it happened and that they need to be careful acting that way in public... It's much better than her getting beat senseless by some dude who DGAF.

I swear one of the reasons feminism is as bad as it is, is that men stopped disciplining their daughters. Their son's as well, but a different topic.

Beatings work? What is this new concept! How did humanity get here without knowing this!

Listen lady, I can hate anyone I WANT to hate, I just nothing this band as I don't care. They're not even on my radar enough to avoid like BTS as I fear their Yandere fangirls...

As soon as you put 'it's sexist/racist to dislike/hate' I just log in my head 'they must not have enough talent so rely on isms to be relevant'

Looking at the world today, can anyone name anything which is wildly popular among teenage girls which is actually good for society (or even neutral, honestly)? Because it seems like "teenage girls made it popular" is a pretty good reason to default to hating something.

The Hunger Games was a YA novel, was it popular with girls? I would not argue it's good for society, but sometimes I think the movie was a good prediction of future America, perhaps after a failed second revolution. Wealthy cities occupied by an aloof, degenerate elite and the Rainbow Reich, ruling over poor rural people who have a completely different culture. I guess that's a pretty common trope though.

Honestly, especially when it is placed in this clause order, which she did for emphasis, lol…

“I feel that X” is an easier throwaway than “X, I feel”, which gives it a sort of… Whiff of being “profound” or “academic”, IMHO…

So yes, she tried to sound like her “opinion” was clever, and failed, pretty much.

But maybe I’ve just spent too much time writing boring academic papers, ha.
