You’re right in the entertainment industry. However, execs are not locked into the industry like editors and cameramen. They can easily move from one industry to another since their positions are the “think tanks” to make more money for the other execs. Why someone like Bob Igor can go from a director of a food tech company to CFO of Disney.
Do you know the sad part? People will go see the new star wars movie, most people have the memory of a gold fish and have not watched all the crappy shows on Disney+.
They won’t. Not because of wokism but it’s just too expensive to go to the movies. Pre-lock downs, tickets to see a movie was 12 a head on average (some theaters reaching 17.) With inflation roaming, that’ll be increasing soon.
Problem is public companies need to demonstrate growth. Disney is stagnating really bad. I know plenty of normies who openly acknowledge the ruining of Star Wars and won't go see future movies featuring Rey.
I grew up on the original star wars. I watched it young enough to have nightmares. Had the action figures and toys. I saw the first and second episodes in the theater then lost all interest in the entire story. I tried watching the mandalorian because boba fett was my favorite as a kid. I stopped midway through the second episode. I had better things to do.
