Lefties are routinely under the impression that their worldview is 100% right and moral, and anyone who thinks anything else is ignoring reality. It is not possible that they are wrong, and that the people supporting their enemy view them as making shit up as casus beli. It is understandable why your 'friends' are behaving this way.

That's because the status quo is conservatives strategically losing ground on literally everything. Them doing so much as retaining ground is cause for uproar, but threatening to retake ground? It's the end of the their entire worldview. It's not something that can happen and if it is happening it must be seen as heralding some sort of primordial evil that requires a holy war.
That's what we're witnessing on some level, a holy war as waged by godless dysgenic freaks.
