Strangle that golden goose while you can, Hollywood MBAs.

I thought it was the best example of why patriarchy is the best way since going by the second hand accounts from reviews I heard, when the Kens take over it becomes a monogamous paradise and it's only ruined when the barbies become cheating sluts.

I heard it was just typical feminist propaganda with unironic use of terms like "patriarchy". But I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to depict a dystopia and it ended up looking like heaven on earth because of their twisted sense of morality.

It's hard to understand morals and healthy relationships when you never experienced living with any.

I won't lie, I'm pretty interested in Sound of Freedom and Oppenheimer. It's the first time I've ever been interested in 2 movies that are in theaters at the same time, largely because I don't find a lot of movies interesting from their trailers (I probably should give more a shot if I can verify that they're not woke). I've seen a grand total of 2 movies since 2016.

Sound of Freedom was good. The only cringy part to me was when the main says "God's children are not for sale" but that's nitpicking. It's a fun watch and the media outcry over it is a huge freaking tell because it's a grounded movie about a guy taking down a human trafficking ring.

Something that you'd think would be apolitical.

He says that because the guy who he's playing says stuff like that all the time.

I love Nolan and I did enjoy Oppenheimer, but it could have been better. I normally like Florence Pugh but I've really gone off her since Don't Worry Darling and now this. She almost single handedly ruins the movie. Nolan should never had had the sex scenes. They ruin what would have been a 9/10. now it's a 7.5/10

even crazier, at the end of the movie, they vote to have egalitarianism instead of a patriarchy or matriarchy... and then Barbie abandons it to go to the real world patriarchy because she knows egalitarianism will be a failure and matriarchy was always phony.

this movie is accidentally based.

They tried that back in 2007, and it dramatically underperformed critically and commercially.

I think this is the right assessment. Inspirational to evil people, and a dire warning to the innocent.

My fiancé saw it without any idea of the creators, actors, or their beliefs. And she thought the movie was hilarious, and was intended as a satire of the hardcore Rad-Fem types with how Barbie was treating Ken.

And from what I have been seeing, that is what a lot of normies are taking away from it.

I'm starting to think that LotusEaters might be right that this was actually a massive self-own, a la: Starship Troopers.

I would believe it. She actually liked Ken more than Barbie, because she thought he was funnier. And I have been seeing a lot more memes of Ken and how based he is even in more normie-aligned areas. It almost certainly got the Starship Troopers treatment, where their sincerely held beliefs are so outlandish and alien to the average person it comes off as a joke.

And since people think is a joke, they interact with it as a joke, which leaves them open to thinking maybe Ken was the one who was right.

I wish there will be a GI Joe movie where most of the runtime is spent on women hating. Let’s see how your girlfriend likes it.

If it is as on the nose with its misogyny as Barbie was with its misandry? And if it it starts with an absurd premise like the existence of a GI Joe Land? Then yeah, she probably would think it was a joke.

After all, I already know she hates that stuff because she has been upset when hardcore manhating was done in the past, especially on characters she likes. And she doesn’t like the other modern trend of them making all the female characters into being an absolute bitch and then calling it “girlboss”.

Which is why she mostly watches Anime now, where they still make characters that are interesting for both sexes and don’t step on each other’s toes.

Ah, movie that purports to be an expression of left wing ideals yet falls short and actually ends up having a based message? 🤭

Which is even more embarrassing than all that 'Wakanda' stuff. At least Black Panther was a cool character, back in the day.

If I had to pick a mascot, I'm going with badass comic book hero over girls' plastic doll, every day of the week.
