I am not a woman but from talking to them, if they get really, really honest about their experience, the people telling them they have to doll up, or that they’re weird for wanting to do science or woodworking or other “male” pursuits is… drum roll… other women. Often, their mothers have a lot to do with it, since naturally mothers come from an earlier generation and what women are “supposed” to do and be is changing rapidly. But as Bill Burr points out in his famous WNBA routine, women like to tear each other apart and then blame men for the result.
And basically across the board, right? Females are ahead of males in a lot of sectors now...and the gap is growing...while they say they still need help. It's only going to get worse.

I was thinking about this subject this morning. The show Phineas and Ferb shows that the two brothers end up a bit dull by the time they finish high school. They aren't flying F-15s through the city or living off their several money making adventures. They're worried about College and romance, and being normal.
As a Cub Scout leader I've seen it several times. The guys come in with ambitions to do a bunch of fun stuff, and then they hit middle school and are terrified to do anything.
I only know of one my scouts who went after his dreams. The rest faded a bit.
That's retarded anyway, if you need constant encouragement to pursue a dream maybe that dream isn't as important to you anyway. Because, yes, you need to fail a lot and you are going to get a lot of hostile looks.
Not even mentioning the unralistic shit boys play with like robots, dinosaurs, space marines, etc.
Modern American women are already spoiled brats because no one in their lives ever told them "no", "stop", or "that's a stupid idea". Things men hear everyday from themselves and from others.

If a girl says "I wanna play basketball" and she's 4'2", she gets a private coach. No one even thinks about what they're good at because it's all "possible."
