Crowder is an alpha male who leads a very stressful & highly successful life. He didn't get there by being a "nice guy".
That little video she leaked wasn't abusive or wrong at all. He was being kindof a dick to her, but she was baiting him & setting him up.

Yes and no. If there's one time to be especially nice to your wife, and let her get away with some shit, it's when she's pregnant with your child. He was demanding she do chores and stuff, and being a total dick. I agree it's not the full story, or the end of it, but it was still pretty out of line, in my opinion. It was also, though, only a snapshot. We don't know what happened in the seconds, minutes, or weeks before. Like you said, she seemed to be pushing him too, and outbursts do happen. But he still behaved pretty badly, I'd say. It's not enough to write him off, or anything, but that...wasn't the best.

I've dated crazy women & said very mean things to them - which they 100% deserved - but if you had me on hidden camera you'd think I was a monster because you wouldn't know the evil shit the girl did to deserve it. The 'punching holes in walls' thing is pretty hard to prove, and not being there for the birth during lockdowns and while recovering from surgery is a bit far too. It's amazing what lawyers will try to get you to say. I know people who have some real horror stories.

Yup, that's definitely a thing. My only real complaint is that she was pregnant, and I think men should make an extra effort during those times. But, yeah, it's not damning...I just didn't like it.

Eh, I have mixed feelings on the whole thing. I still watch him every once in a while. I’m already watching him less because of the Dave Landau interview. What I will say about the situation is that it seems like he brings his work home with him. Because of how he lectures her on what makes a great wife or something like that. That’s my only complaint. Jeez, I don't care how "trad" you are, if there's one time to simp for your wife it's when she's pregnant with your child. Instead he was acting like he was significantly superior, doing various shit tests, and just generally being a bitch. That's pretty hard to rationalize, although emotions can also be very hot from both people during a pregnancy. Still, as they say, not a good look. Although we're only seeing one side.

Although I am critical of Crowder on this, I will defend him and say I don't think this really rises to those levels. He could have behaved better, absolutely, but it was a spat, not abuse. He got emotional, he lost his cool, he acted like a bitch, but I think that's a little different than the level of hypocrisy some 'family values' types have been caught up in.
There's no proof/allegations of physical abuse, there's no proof/allegations of affairs, etc. I criticize his actions, but I'm not even calling him a hypocrite. Just someone who occasionally acts like a childish asshole.

IDK. I'm not so sure you should be simping for anyone, even your wife, because she's bound to get resentful of it just like every other woman is. For the most part, what I saw was bickering. One from a woman who was pregnant, and another from a guy who was disabled from a heart condition.
Pectus excavatum isn't a disabling condition. Crowder was working out at the gym at the time by his own admission in the video and got a purple belt in BJJ (probably even brown or black by now) years ago.
There's even a top 15 UFC fighter with uncorrected pectus excavatum. This idea that it was a mortal or even disabling problem was planted by Crowder.
I'm going to chose to take his word on his own medical condition until I see something far more blatant, like fake hospital trips.
I'm not saying he was totally lying, but I think he exaggerated his doctor's comments. He did have pectus excavatum and I'm sure it affected his cardiovascular capability. Everything else is suspect though.

This and the way he treated Dave Landau has soured me to Crowder. I don’t watch or listen to him anymore. It’s a shame, as I agreed with most of what he says.
I did catch glimpses from time to time of a very controlling personality. It’s a reflection of who he is and not conservatives though.
That being said, I doubt he meant that fathers were useless. I’ve rarely seen anyone more outspoken about the consequences of not having a father present in the home. Indeed his father is a frequent guest on the show (nepotism maybe? Who knows but his Dad is funny in his own right).
I'm not so sure I agree. I think any man who is a tradcon is going to set order and boundaries to what the women in their life can do. That's actually the point: to ground women to the material world, away from the metaphysical one; and to give them a safe space to build a family and community in.

"You will not take the car" is a completely reasonable statement even for a woman to say to a man when the one trying to take the car has a medical condition that can cause paralysis.

My original intent was to point out that "You will not take the car" is something a western man is typically not prepared to say to a woman. Literally, not the other way around. "Fuck you, I'm taking the car." is much more palatable from a woman to a man; than "You will not take the car" is from a man to a woman.
A TradCon is pre-disposed to allowing a man to say this to a woman, because a man is setting boundaries. Most western societies don't want men to do this, and instead want men to treat women the way Steve Harvey treats his daughters: give them whatever they want, whenever they want, and never ever say no.
All the defenses of Crowder are explanations of trad theory. The problem isn't the theory, it's the specifics of what he said in the video that make him a selfish dick. If you're familiar with Crowder's internet history, which most people here aren't, this also tracks with a lot of other stuff he's done.
