the Australian Bureau of Meteorology has erased all of Australia's hottest temperatures, because they all occurred before 1910. (twitter.com)

The covid nonsense really opened my eyes to how scientific "consensus" is reached.

The orthodox opinion is decided, and anyone who has a contrary opinion is purged. Then they can say all mainstream scientists agree with orthodox opinion. A little bit of record scrubbing later and the normies will believe anything you tell them about the subject.

I didn't completely understand this until I saw it happen in real time with the coof. Now I just asssume that's how it happens with everything, including climate hysteria.

I found out the food pyramid and everything we were taught about fat is basically complete lies years ago, but I'll still have middle aged women tell me that eating soybean oil is better than real butter and that grains are nutritious.

Food pyramid bullshit was one of those things that just seemed so retarded on its face even as a kid. But I never went so far as to connect that feeling towards understanding that fat isn't evil and that composing a diet of tons of carbs is actively harmful to one's body until the past year or so.

Out of all the rabbit holes to go down, I can't recommend it enough because you'll come out the other end feeling better physically and mentally than ever before.

Interesting. I can't say I've seen the same, but it would be a welcome change. A marginal improvement at least.

Dr. Lister and the food pyramid have both been brought up, so I have to bring up Tesla. Pretty much every bit of wireless communication relies on his ideas, along with DC power, wireless charging, lasers, and what has become the Gamma Ray Knife concept.

He died broke and alone in a hotel room, and then the government agencies (led by people with the last names of Bush, Trump and Gorsuch) flocked in and took his papers, classifying everything useful. Then they slandered him to the press as a kook, fraud and idiot.

I knew it pre-covid, but the whole covid nonsense is certainly an excellent case study.

Would you mind listing what specifically you saw being adjusted in this way, if you remember? Covid will likely be an MSM red pill for many but exactly for what will depend a lot on "why" due to what people keep track of and experience themselves.

The main thing I remember is seeing doctors speaking out on twitter and other social media outlets. Those doctors were then banned and sometimes stripped of credentials for not falling in line with the who or cdc.

Sometimes it was for speaking out against the vaccine. Other times it was for something as tame as talking about ivermectin.

Also the fear mongering. I remember the news story about “mass graves” in New York City that even people like Tim Pool covered. In a real emergency the powers that be would be trying to keep everyone calm. The fact that they were trying to drum up fear like that was a dead giveaway this was all nonsense.

It's been happening for a while under the idea that those people clearly were just too damned stupid to be able to be understanding things like temperature.

The older I get, the more I hate the political parade that is "Academia".

Basically every meteorology organization also places their thermometers near hotzones, like airstrips, concrete jungles, roads, etc.

"THE EARTH IS TEN DEGREES HOTTER WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE"

Yeah no shit, tarmac gets hot even in cooler times of the year.

Yes. It's kinda obvious. Humans alter their environment. The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere alters the environment.

The vast amount of human activity causes climate change. No shit.

The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere alters the environment.

And for all that effort, only 12% of the carbon in the atmosphere is from after 1750.

The vast amount of human activity causes climate change. No shit.

In Feb this year, ocean temps rose so much and so fast that a third of the total warming since 1995 occurred in 3 weeks. This event alone discredits the consensus AGW model.

That's such a retarded way to put it. Feel free to look at the interactive chart for yourself. You get spikes with the oceans sometimes too (2001, 2018), and you sometimes warming periods are much higher overall compared to previous years (1997-1998, 2009-2010).

I'd debate you on that, but that's literally not what your source actually says. It's actually claiming that 12% of the Co2 in the atmosphere is from the use of fossil fuels.

I'm not sure I can agree with most of this study, especially since it's extrapolating Carbon-14 measurements that were taken by NOAA in about a decade long span, trying to reason out how much Carbon-14 probably was in the atmosphere. Worse, I'm not sure I can buy into the idea that if Carbon-14 Co2 is in the atmosphere, it will decrease the non-Carbon-14 Co2 levels. Maybe by proportion that could be the case, but see my first issue.

I'm also not sure about the logic here of using that idea. As they note, carbon is absorbed into carbon revisors. How much Carbon-14 Co2 is being absorbed compared to non Carbon-14 Co2? Why is it just assumed to be basically equal absorption rates?

Then we have to consider that fossil fuel emissions are not the only Co2 were even talking about in the first place. The primary reason environmentalists are attacking farmers right now is not because they are using tractors, but because of the generic carbon emissions of agriculture itself. The Co2 emissions are not just only from burning a coal. It's the result of the industrial revolution around that coal. That increased the general population (by an astronomical level), it's land use, removed carbon sinks like forests, so on and so forth.

The value of hydrocarbons is that it prompted industrialization. That industrialization has a multiplicity of knock-on effects that are more than just "coal gas go up".

In Feb this year, ocean temps rose so much and so fast that a third of the total warming since 1995 occurred in 3 weeks. This event alone discredits the consensus AGW model.

Actually most people would try and use this to prove AGW, but okay. Not that that one statement matters, again, weather is not climate. Sturm tried to explain this to you.

Fortunately we have so many impartial experts who can look at it and freely debate its merits and whose careers and credibility aren't dependent on that debate concluding in a particular way.

Probably. Climate catastrophism and reason have long since parted ways.

Yes, yes, don't review the data, just trust The Alt-Science.

Climate catastrophism and reason have long since parted ways.

You genuinely don't know what you are talking about. You are just arguing against a strawman, rather than dealing with the evidence.

You're calling me ignorant when you haven't even figured out that the deranged covid cultists, the deranged climate cultists, the deranged race cultists, the deranged gender cultists, the deranged capitalism cultists, the deranged colonialism cultists, and broadly the deranged woke cultists are all part of the same Marxist cult. I suggest you look at how the 1990 IPCC """consensus""" was formed, and at ClimateGate, and at the woke cult generally. And if after all that you still don't get it, you never will.
