“If you’re frightened of being attacked, maybe consider that it’s your own fault” is a hell of a gateway drug toward arguing for totalitarianism.

It could also be used to argue for personal improvement and greater self reliance, but we all understand the left well enough to know your scenario is how it would turn out.

literally communist red scare tactics.

the problem is that when you call them communists, they're proud of it. they need to fear being seen as a communist.

deranged lunatics who frequently disrupt other people's events with false police reports and/or violence.

Up to and including bomb threats (possibly even legitimate ones), and gas attacks.

Fuck these thugs.

Calling it now. The Blurple-haired Orcs are going to throw hissy fits until the venue cancels on them.

For security reasons, we are not posting the venue address. You will receive an email with the address and directions after you register.

At least they know they're going to try to spike their venue. I wish them luck. I may buy a ticket even though I probably can't make it just to show my support.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but what's stopping a single SJW from buying a ticket, getting the address through email, and then promptly publicizing the venue throughout their networks of saboteurs? Sure, there's the extra step of one person having to dole out a few dollars, but that hardly seems like a huge obstacle for the same kind of people who regularly freely give out thousands of dollars to twitch thots.

That would mean admitting they talked to the enemy. I noticed it during the 2016 election. Everyone talked about the Trump books like they were Mein Kampf for businessmen. It became obvious they never read it. All anyone had to do was read his book, and figure him out.

Then the left crowed about a book that helped Obama get elected. So Trump read it, and made sure his campaign runners read it. They countered everything quickly by just reading a freaking book.

Back in the day, the president of Nintendo said the Wii was based on two books. Guess how many journalists actually read it? Two. Only one really got it. Then when Microsoft and Sony came out with their copycats, I saw tons of people using the terms from the books, but not understanding what the terms meant.

To read the enemy is to acknowledge them, and that is a forbidden sin among the righteous.

Man, it's not a personal dig at you, but it's really sad to read that keeping the venue secret works as if it were some kind of W.

The dissident right has to ingest copius amounts of copium to feel like they're actually accomplishing something.

If you have to keep hiding your events with fear of retaliation or punishment, it means we lost.

Well, hey there, Assassin. Do you know why the lefties don't like uncensored AI chatbots? It's because they talk about crime statistics and who owns everything. /Mouse

Nice! I need to look this up. I love how PC gamer can’t just report about the event with interjecting their 2 cents

They're probably unable or unwilling to do so, especially their resident drama queen, Andy Chalk. Almost every nontroversy-covering article is/was usually written up by him, just like this one.

That might explain it. I see tons of good articles from them, and then the insane stuff.

Yeah they're pretty terrible in that regard. Some of their steam recommendations and reviews are okay but they always seem to be sandwiched between their social justice wank.

I pretty much did the Vince McMahon reaction video when I was reading the initial guest list. Travis Corcoran is going to be there. I am wondering if I can get Larry Correia and David Weber to go...

It's good to know the ID software IP's would be safe with Carmack if transfered back to him.

Reposting my comment from r/½kia.

Carmack has a great track record of principles and heterodoxy, including rejecting powerplay on technical merits, rejecting software patents at ID to where Creative Labs strong armed them with Carmack's Reverse patent (John should have patentlefted), donating to Ron Paul's 2012 campaign, and a one-time donation when ESR had some medical bills. A nice contrast to some other successful tech founders who cowardly or enthusiastically support Current Thing.
