One friend actually was shocked when I told him to get the real data. But this is similar to how they did a poll showing gen z believing that half the population was gay or black. If you watched a lot of modern tv I can see how you would arrive at that conclusion
Yea, I never understood the poverty angle. On one hand I can see someone stealing out if desperation but I’ve known plenty of lower income people who stayed out of legal trouble. My grandparents grew up on small farms and were by no means rich and they managed to not commit crimes
Poverty makes everybody go up in crime. There's plenty of reasons for it. The problem is even without poverty, black crime rates are way higher than anyone else to the point where the most criminal whites are still committing less than the wealthy blacks.
Which means the poverty angle is only multiplicative, not the principle reason for black crime rates. Its something inherent to them specifically increasing it, whether genetic or their own specific culture being strong enough to overcome the truly massive hurdle that is white poverty/crime levels.

So its not like a super rich black guy is out robbing stores, but he, and mostly his children as it seems is the biggest source of the actual problem, are still getting involved in illegal activities that things like black culture are heavily invested in.
It can be argued that black guys get arrested disproportionately for drug crimes, whether by presumptuous cops searching them more or just generally being harder on them, but if you know that'll happen you should maybe just not do fucking drugs.
These days you would literally have to bring a giant flatscreen into town and blast the proof in their faces to get any kind of real reaction from them and make them think about stuff.

It's not even a 'all black people are dangerous and easily become criminals' as if I look at Africa specifically Somalialand, there is a stable country and society despite no help from ANY western country and being next door to Somalia which is still in a decades long civil war.
They just really don't want to admit that urban blacks in America are basically a test case of how total Democrat/leftist rule is in practice and well need I keep pointing to the Arkham cities...
