Yea, I never understood the poverty angle. On one hand I can see someone stealing out if desperation but I’ve known plenty of lower income people who stayed out of legal trouble. My grandparents grew up on small farms and were by no means rich and they managed to not commit crimes
Poverty makes everybody go up in crime. There's plenty of reasons for it. The problem is even without poverty, black crime rates are way higher than anyone else to the point where the most criminal whites are still committing less than the wealthy blacks.
Which means the poverty angle is only multiplicative, not the principle reason for black crime rates. Its something inherent to them specifically increasing it, whether genetic or their own specific culture being strong enough to overcome the truly massive hurdle that is white poverty/crime levels.

I’m not denying those definitely a lot for me to unpack. But the first step towards addressing it is to actually acknowledge the data.
