Why don’t they want to talk about mental health? I think making up pronouns for yourself and playing pretend like a 5 year old shows some serious issues. Or seeing a penis between your legs and thinking you need to get rid of it because you are really a woman. Sure, let these people with clear mental issues have all the guns they want. What could go wrong
Unless someone is a real schizo with actual brain abnormalities the solution to almost every problem is stfu and gbtw. Of course women and weak men refuse to believe there is anything wrong with themselves so they look to external causes for why nothing is their fault.
And it's explicitly so, by definition. The common diagnostic criteria in so many DSM definitions is if you're 'dysfunctional' in society, which boils down to if you can hold down a job or not. All your other symptoms can be the same, but if you're still getting handed money for busy-work, then they don't like to call it mental illness. That's how they were able to get tranny issues and dysphoria destigmatised as mental illnesses - not by therapising the trannies, but by sickening society to the extent that these people are normalised in the workplace and much harder to fire. Meanwhile they make absolute bank for the medical industry with all their body maiming treatments. We can SEE that they're broken parodies of healthy individuals, but employers are encouraged to be fine with them and the DSM intentionally doesn't have your back.
The determining factor in whether or not you're 'mentally ill' is your ability to keep propping up this sick shambles of a so-called civilisation. Imagine if a cancer diagnosis depended on your ability to put on a suit and sit at a workstation. It's a joke.
I do agree that the mental health crisis is a feature of this culture, not a bug. They want people despondent and lonely. Humans are not meant to live this way.
I don't necessarily disagree, but this massively ignores the complexity of this issue.
I assure you, if it were as simple as that, suicide simply wouldn't be as common as it is. Let alone the absolute ubiquity of anxiety and depression among Western societies these days...
Yeah, those things are factors. But there's more going on than just that.
You can "fix" most of those things, and it still won't "fix" a broken life or a broken mind.
I agree. I think there are legit mental issues like hearing voices or believing you are the opposite sex but mental health is way overblown and it definitely seems like a way to avoid taking responsibility in some cases
I usually agree with you on most things, and I think you're on the right track here with it being "overblown", but I would be careful with this assessment...
I can assure you, depression and anxiety are definitely real.
Taking responsibility doesn't change that. "Stfu and gbtw", as others have said, doesn't work either.
That's... That's how people end up killing themselves. That sort of attitude.
Which... Some people might find an acceptable outcome. I'm sure some people here (not you) would say "Ah well, another weakling out of the gene pool".
But society cannot operate like that. Well, modern society cannot. I know people here think that empathy is overrated, but...
Believe me, in the throes of clinical depression, or even knowing someone close who is experiencing that... Saying "nah, it's not real", or "get over it" - well, let's just say... It's going to make the situation so much worse...
I agree depression and anxiety are real. I mean overblown in the sense that I hear that used a lot when people don’t want to do something and they use mental health as an excuse for everything. But I certainly understand there are legit issues but unfortunately we live in a time that makes it very easy to use excuses
True and a lot of mass shooters aren't mentally ill. I mean, they are suicidal. Which may indicate an underlying mental illness. But we don't call basically suicide bombers mentally ill. Just crazy (kek). Anyways.
Shooters are acting somewhat rationally. They aren't insane. They are mad.
They want to go, but they want to take some people they dislike with them. I don't know exactly what all problems these people have. But maybe they have a "good" reason for wanting to die. Maybe they are just willing to die for a cause, and it's hard to survive these attacks.
The ultimate point being: You can't necessarily treat these people. If they don't want it, and they haven't yet committed any crimes, there's nothing you can do. This is why I think mass shooting is a difficult problem to solve. Simply shouting better mental illness treatment is not it.
I don't agree with your assessment, or with many of the replies.
That's just not how this works.
Yes, I agree that a lot of kids now are faking it, or simply haven't developed the necessary "coping skills", but this is a particularly bad outlook to have...
Trust me, when you have actual mental illness, "stfu and gbtw" is literally the worst advice possible. It just doesn't work. I wish it did, but it doesn't.
These sorts of generalisations are how we end up with ever-increasing rates of youth suicide.
You might be okay with that; Imp might be okay with that, but dismissing mental health problems as literally nonexistent is really, really... Not good.
This is not the "own" you presumably think it is...
when you have actual mental illness, "stfu and gbtw" is literally the worst advice possible.
Maybe you are the 1% that has actual physical brain damage. But that doesn't make my statement any less correct.
If it isn't brain damage then it is your ego tying you in knots by desperately hanging on to some kind of false assumption because letting go of it requires more courage than you are currently able to muster.
youth suicide.
"If you don't agree with me you want kids to kill themselves". This is exactly the kind of scheming manipulation that women and trannies use. Disagree with me fine but do it better than that.
Why is the black suicide significantly lower than the White suicide rate? Why is the suicide rate so low in third world shithole countries? If the cause is "mental illness" then why are people in countries with functioning toilets all crazy?
If someone can't figure something out you teach them how to figure it out. You don't re-draw society to accommodate individual defects, or allow people to use their personal defects as excuses.
"stfu and gbtw" is basically "pull yourself up by the bootstraps". There's not a lot to say here. Some people don't have the internal reference to understand that there are problems you can't solve that way. There's no point explaining it, you can't give someone that internal reference with words.
Red flag laws are a great idea in a homogenous society where everybody generally has similar values and can be trusted not to use them as a weapon against their enemies.
They think we're using the concept of mental illness as a weapon against them, because they genuinely want to use it as one against us. It's similar to how talking about crime statistics instantly makes them start accusing you of planning ethnic cleansing and genocide.

99% of "mental health" is fake.
Unless someone is a real schizo with actual brain abnormalities the solution to almost every problem is stfu and gbtw. Of course women and weak men refuse to believe there is anything wrong with themselves so they look to external causes for why nothing is their fault.
A lot of the "mental health" problems people have boil down to a combination of:
Awful diet
No close relationships
Bad sleep schedule
Spending way too much time online
Alcohol
Lack of spirituality
You forgot lack of physical exercise, but otherwise a very good cheat sheet of how to fix society.
Most "mental health" problems are actually simply CORRECT RESPONSES to how absolute shit our society is.

You aren't wrong. I had a friend who got way way too into that psychadelic crap and ended up committing suicide by cop. That was a rough funeral.
Leftism and jewish influence isn't helping.

Because mental health discussions won't let them revoke or neuter the second amendment.
It will the moment the Right hands them "take guns from the mentally ill"
All of a sudden conservatism becomes a mental illness, and the red flags start flying.
Red flag laws are a great idea in a homogenous society where everybody generally has similar values and can be trusted not to use them as a weapon against their enemies.
True
They are too busy building a coalition to overthrow society to truly worry about the well being of their shock troops.

Good point
