Actual Discription: Batman is dead, and a powder keg has ignited Gotham City without the Dark Knight to protect it. In the wake of Bruce Wayne's murder, his adopted son Turner Hayes (Morgan) is framed for killing the Caped Crusader, along with the children of some of Batman's enemies: Duela (Keegan), an unpredictable fighter and skilled thief who was born in Arkham Asylum and abandoned by her father, Harper Row (Smythe), a streetwise and acerbic engineer who can fix anything, and her brother Cullen Row (DiChiara), a clever transgender teen who is tired of being polite and agreeable. But our Knights will soon learn there is a larger, more nefarious force at work within Gotham City. Critical Drinker will definitely shit on it. I find his reviews entertaining but honestly he seems a bit of a populist rather then objective.
Some of the drinker recommends are shady stuff, like Prey or TLOU or even Ragnarok to the point where he just said is "fantasy bro" in response to black scandinavian deities. He also mentioned stuff like we need more representation in movies.
On the other hand he is against "the message".
He accepts some amount of woke in movies to the point I think he does not mind it as long as he likes the plot or is popular.
Being a friend of Mauler does not help, that guy is just a leftist cuck.
My point is that he kind of needs a far left, bad movie to shit on in order to maintain his "centrist persona"
He does not object to woke changes. That is my biggest problem I have with him. He takes them as more of a red flag rather then a minus. Race swaps are not bad on their own, even the lack of white competent men or having women sidelining men as long as the script is ok and no one beats you over the head with propaganda. And while he is not a fan of modern day diversity in fantasy settings he is not that much against it, maybe a passing remark.
So basically he is fine with propaganda as long as it is subtle.
And I think he takes things for popularity on a centrist, maybe right of center. He more or less praised GOW Ragnarok for the story, the story is not that good, a movie with that story would be mediocre, he is a movie critique so he should see that. That was my biggest red flag. The second red flag is being friends with Mauler.
Mauler is a regular on the open bar segment and Drinker has a second channel for games, he is not much of a gamer but money is money and viewership kind of leaks from his main channel. The fact he has a gaming channel despite him acknowledging he is not a gamer just means he wants money, lots and lots of it. He even put a video about how to not see woke things everywhere that he "accidentally" put on his gaming channel.
I think he has just been so mindbroken by watching all the garbage as his job that he just sees production value and doesn't even see agenda anymore.

What makes you call MauLer a "leftist cuck"? I've been watching his reviews and his podcast (I'm ~47 episodes deep) and he strikes me as perhaps center left from back when that was a real thing. For sure there are things I disagree with that he's said, but he also is willing to listen to pretty much any viewpoint, engage with people that have been cancelled, and accurately call out when a focus on casting/writing for diversity has overcome the need to write something good. Plus, his entire schtick is that feelings alone are not an objective measure of quality and that subjective opinion must be separated from the objectively real, which is practically antithetical to leftist media.
Do I wish he was more to the right, such as recognizing that race and sex swaps are bad on a fundamental level even if they fit perfectly into the changed story? Sure. Would I call him a leftist cuck? Definitely not. Is there something in his more recent work that you say causes you to say that?
A bit of exaggeration on my part, he is not against race and sex swaps not if they fit perfectly but if he can find an angle to excuse it and he is pro having tons of gay stuff in movies. Turner Hayes is some 'new' character likely because the CW was told by Warner Brothers that they aren't allowed to use any of the characters that might make them money, so no Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Jason Todd, or Damian Wayne. It's all awkward because Carrie Kelley introduces herself to the group of the little shits as Robin, meaning she was working with Bruce already, so Turner should know who she is because he too would be a Robin as Bruce tends to put the kids in costume.
Honestly it's just more poorly written fanfiction about their little gay group who are totally related to big named characters.

I haven't read DC in ages at this point because they decided to up the ante so much with the Perpetua storyline then resolve it like Guren Lagann, except so much fucking worse because Guren Lagann having robots larger than the galaxy punching each other wasn't actually as retarded as it sounds.
