I'm a big believer in freedom, but I wouldn't mind giving right wing authoritarianism a turn at the wheel for a while since the left is doing it. It's only fair.
I'll get smacked by whichever side is at the helm, but I'm pretty sure the right will smack me less than the left.
At least the right will smack you in ways that strengthen society rather than destroy it, and encourage you to strengthen yourself too.
Given the left's moral posturing, you might be correct, but there are elements of the right which are entirely moralistic as well. I think CS Lewis had the right of it:
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
― C. S. Lewis
would be an interesting conundrum indeed, were it not proven natural law that the third-position-type-"right"'s pragmatic and sensible morals more often than not do truly lead to good outcomes.
puritan-style tongue searing (or would it be finger searing?) if you so much as type Jesus with a lowercase J might be the image that the term "right-wing authoritarianism" evokes, but personally i think stuff like that is just plain insane, which means it can be rather neatly lumped in with the left which is equally insane. it definitely should not be the image of what we refer to as "the right" and which cannot be seen anywhere in popular society today, since that sort of ideology stands for a reasonability which would forbid needless tyranny like cutting your ears off if you listen to nigger rap.
we may, however, confiscate the fire mixtape, and recommend some mozart. i don't think anyone could blame us for that.
Mozart is colonialist, fascist adjacent, imperialist music.
Thus, I approve.
Not so sure about that. Extremes of woke Leftwing Authoritarian Identity Politics: CCP China. Extremes of awakening Rightwing Authoritarian Identity Politics: Theocratic Islamic State(s) in MENA.
Comparing Christians to Muslims...LOL.
We haven’t had anything near Christian theocracy in centuries.
We haven't had anything I would call a Christian theocracy in the west in like 200 years, so that strikes me as incredibly unlikely.
That said, the prospect of Islamification of Europe over the next 200 years is a real one - I don't see any resurgence of Christianity coming, so Islam may well be the future of Europe. Hopefully by peaceful conversion rather by the typical Islamic method of the sword.
Ooooh nooo....how awful...
whut, Chyna hates niggers and faggots
Look up the term "Useful idiots".
Right-wing tyranny is a lot less embarrassing.
And more efficient.
i hope there're at least spiffy uniforms
Helicopter rides aren't terribly efficient, but they sure do create a spectacle.
That's mostly a meme anyway, I think.
I'm trying to find exact numbers. The Chilean government says 120 people executed via death flights. Other estimates say 40+ flights, and 400-500 total "bodies" thrown...but that includes dead bodies, as it was also used as a way to dispose of those who, uhm, perished in other ways.
I'm not talking morals here, but from an efficiency standpoint it doesn't sound like it was terribly inefficient, actually.
It's really a no-win scenario but, yeah, it would be better than continuing to go down the current path.
It's kind of a case of one side demanding that I believe in things that are observably not only untrue, but are in fact inversions of reality.
As opposed to the other side demanding that I believe in supernatural stuff that is unknowable.
For me at least, it's a lot easier to honestly say, "I dunno, but ok?" than "absolutely not, but yes!"
There really isn't such a thing unless you use a very twisted view of what constitutes "right wing".
Authoritarianism is the extreme left spectrum. Anarchism is the extreme right spectrum. The "political compass" and "horseshoe theory" that put the far left socialists of nazi germany on the right just because they squabbled with other far left groups is a propaganda tool pushed by leftists.
only if you use neocon prageryew political scale that crams every thing down to muh economic freedoms and ignore everything else like culture, history and you know, actual politics. meanwhile every one else uses the left/right terminology based on the old revolutionists literally seated on the left wing while the monarchists/tradtionalists/reactionaries seated on the right.
You still don't understand. All forms of authoritarianism are authoritarianism. Cultural, social, whatever. This is the only scale that actually has concrete values and cam be used to measure all forms of government. It's not a tool to say "right wing good left wing bad" or the opposite, it's an ACCURATE scale.
And it is necessary to use because retarded subhuman wehraboos who try to slide their socialist bullshit in with more right wing entities should be culled like vermin.
where do you think the 'left and right' even came from? it's not an arbitrary thing people coined out of nothingness. neocons are the ones that subverted the term to push their laissez-faire economic policies and claim themselves as conservatives who care about conserving (traditional) values while only caring about conserving corporate profits and gdp. the monarchy being ultimate left wing while anarchist being the ultimate right wing is the most retarded thing to say about politics.
if I ask you what are you even conserving, are you going to reply my democracy and individual freedoms, literally liberal/left wing concepts?
