Which isn't to say that Christians are ungenerous. What I perceived is that certain foreign charity was perceived as prestigious. It broadcast less virtue to help out the guy under the bridge.
It says a lot about it when I was surprised to see that the church we attend actually sends missionaries out into the US, not just the regions beyond. Granted I think more and more every day that our church is a huge exception in that they actually preach, teach, and follow the Word.
