Beautiful speech explains why the activists will never solve climate change and are likely making it worse (twitter.com)

He said the same thing people have been saying for 20 years:

  • CO2 emissions growth is entirely in poor countries & China, so there's nothing white people can do about it.

  • None of those people give the slightest shit about "climate change", and it is futile to even try to change their minds.

But, like recycling (which doesn't work and is a waste of time), climate change related bullshit has nothing to do with reality, and everything to do with feelings. Idiots who want to feel good about themselves and tell themselves they're "good people" and feel good about diverting their negative emotions towards an artificial class of "bad people", will gleefully embrace climate change rhetoric as a sort of new religion. It's not rational, and it doesn't need to be. It should be mocked, but instead, it's winning, because it's easier for normies to just go along.

Wind and solar is like paying Lambo prices for 6 Geo Metros tied together with rope.

👌

What XR and friends seem mostly to be is a bunch of extremely wealthy children desperately trying to run away from being called on their privilege by their own obnoxious friends, now that misery has become some kind of alternate currency.

And so they're required to make up fantastic tales in which, no, they are the poor downtrodden masses and their acts of wanton vandalism are in fact them standing up to The Man, even though That Man is, by and large, somebody else in their family.

This is why it makes total sense that a young white girl of college age from a hyper-liberal EU member nation has become the moral scold/spokesman for global warming agitation.

Recycling is just another business to make money and does fuck-all for the environment, which is exactly why they push it instead of Reusing (fix / repair) and Reducing (stop buying shit you don't need, ie that iphone every fucking year) since those actually work to some extent but that would mean they would be buying less useless shit.

Recycling is just another business to make money

Nope, it is a net negative, although the companies paid by the govt to do it make money. See the following two articles by John Tierney:

Recycling is Garbage
The Perverse Panic over Plastic

CO2 emissions growth is entirely in poor countries & China, so there's nothing white people can do about it.

I mean, technically, we can do something about the latter. The entire reason China dumps so much CO2 and pollution into the atmosphere is because so much is manufactured there. The only reason they manufacture so much is because of the many overburdensome regulations in place that make it impossible to manufacture within our own borders (without the use of sky high tariffs).

but, like recycling (which doesn't work and is a waste of time)

Like most things, there's an exception that proves the rule: aluminum. If you know anything about the process of "dug out of the ground" to "turned to usable metal", you'll understand the benefits. We're talking about a 95% reduction in energy spent, not having to as heavily rely on foreign countries for Bauxite, allowing existing Bauxite reserves to last for far longer, and avoiding the creation of red mud. Hell, even the waste that recycling it creates has found use as filler in asphalt and concrete.

Like every other gay commie exaggerated sky-is-falling claim, "climate change" isn't a real problem.

It's a sorting mechanism to determine who is for the revolution and who is against it. And an excuse to funnel government money to the friends of the revolution.

He mentioned that the prosperity from carbon-energy emissions would allow his son would go to college and become a woke idiot... but fails to note that his son will never have a girlfriend, will be pathologically nihilistic, and in a fit of madness will kill himself and his father because of their crimes against the planet and his rage against God for the crime of being. Some of his son's last words will be "humanity is the virus, nature is healing" and "I wish I was aborted".

I think his appeal to reason is very good speech, but it is a speech directed into an abyss that looks like it's snarling back.

I'm afraid the only answer is to defund the schools, reject the protests, and clear them out regardless of their moral condemnations of us.

Your first paragraph is so over the top!

But if his kids are just entering school right now... there's a good chance that you're right.

It's hyperbolic only because it's a compilation of what we've seen so far in a single example.

It was beautiful how they pretty much (unintentionally) crushed any remaining credibility Sam Harris had.

Absolutely. That was an eye-opener. It really revealed the power of TDS. Either that or Harris made his reputation fraudulently (which is what I think).

Harris is a brainlet who uses the fundamental framework of Christian ethics and morality while denying its value. He’s someone who is standing upon the mountains and peaks of those who came before him, and thinks himself tall.

Dawkins did the same thing but realized his mistake the second Islamic terror attacks started happening all over Europe.

Useless and not based on rational arguments at all. Incredibly vulnerable, really.

For example, he mentions that they (presuming - Britain) produce only 2% of CO2 emissions. But that plays straight into the hands of SJW because Britain is only ~0.8% of world's population.

And the rest of his speech is all based on appeal to emotions, basically, and only serves to reinforce the basic SJW notion of not having kids anymore (because see, can't stop evil because parents will do any kind of evil for children).

And the conclusion of "that's why we have to invent stuff" is also inept - well, duh, that's why we've invented the bugburger but you don't want to eat it, bigot.

Zero non-echo chamber value.
