they’re claiming them as objective critical and commercial failures. Against all evidence. Against statistics and feedback. It’s baffling.

Proceeds to show no statistics or feedback

I hope they charged quite a bit for that article.

And saying that critics loved it is really no gauge.

Because pointing out how they crap on the source material is toxic. I once angered some people on Reddit for saying if they want all the diversity they claim then they need to write their own story. Stop crapping on great works to “reflect a modern audience”

Did you not look at the paragraphs before the quote?

Only a month into The Rings of Power’s run Amazon executives were claiming that viewing figures were “cresting towards 100 million”. She-Hulk has been Disney+’s top trending show, and is regularly in the top ten streaming shows in the US, according to Nielsen ratings. In the UK, where the ratings are more easily accessible, a respectable 1.6 million were clicking. Kenobi broke records for Disney+, achieving the service’s biggest ever season debut.

(Then they included other review quotes)

They are biased sources, but it is something.

Ehh, statistics would be something that means something, imo.

Cresting towards 100 million

So it's less than 100 million. Some number less than 100 million. We don't know what it's 100 million of, but we know it's less than that.

You see where I'm going with this?

Yeah I dunno how many people have to watch before Amazon can declare a billion dollars well spent. I think that's part of the problem. There's no direct correlation between Amazon's programming and revenue. They're not running ads. No show is going to move the dial on Prime subscriptions, which people are mainly using to buy shit. Amazon will just do whatever they "feel" like.

All the writers room dumbasses lost their minds post Trump and threw any subtlety in the message pushing out the window.

The revolution was a success, the open marxists have taken over all significant cultural production. And are in the process of destroying the thing they have infested because they have no idea how anything actually works, as per their usual MO.

No matter how much they cope they can't change objective reality, they can only "execute" (currently only socially and economically, but they are going for physically soon enough) anyone who points that out, then pretend the lack of dissent is a victory.

They're so wrapped up in their little echo chamber it's cute.

extremely popular with audiences and critics alike

Leftist critics fallate leftist producers. News at 11!

Meanwhile in reality, they're so "popular" that they have to censor negative reviews en masse. After all, only trolls would disagree with them!

That explains why Bezos thinks we're doomed all of a sudden.

I don’t care how commercially successful your entertainment products are within a wholly controlled and rapidly collapsing ecosystem.

Oh, they're successful? Okay, keep making them then. Keep paying to make more. All day and all night, nothing but winners. Watch that success profit just keep rolling in.

Yeah, forget season 2, just make it an evergreen production. Infinite seasons. And spin-offs!

Nothing would make me happier than for Bezos to spend 100 billion more to make 100 more of these.
