The comic book ended a few years back. That was good. I recommend it. I gave up on the show in 18. The showrunner said he wanted pretty much all interracial or lgbt relationships. Funny thing is that in a post apocalyptic world with a reduced population interracial would be understandable but the high lgbt numbers not so much. Like I said read the comics. They end well with a good father. Shocking in this day and age
I predicted almost exactly what would happen partway into the second episode of that season. Really predictable stuff.
Still, there were a few good moments in the season or two after it. But after that the show just got really fucking stupid. After the third "idyllic safe haven is destroyed because of mad dictator ex machina" plot I checked right out.
Right. I mean of any setting, post-apocalyptic is the one time where Burger King Kids Club Casting kind of sort of makes sense. If I'm part of the .001% of humanity left, I'm not going to be looking for a woman who has a lot in common with me. I'm going to be looking for any woman willing to have a child so we can prevent our species from going extinct.
Yep. I personally have no problem with interracial relationships but you would have to be blind to not notice the massive overrepresentation in media that is similar to lgbt overrepresentation. This type of scenario would be an example where you would probably see a number of interracial couples but of course the writers have their quotas
Yes, they don't realize how much "tolerance" of homos is enforced by the government, spread through TV, etc. In an actual crisis people would have zero tolerance for their bullshit. Not to mention most of them would die instantly from GRIDS. Sort of a similar level with feminism. Women would not be going out and about, risking their lives if at all possible. I suppose if things were bad enough they might, but it's still unrealistic. Even when we were hunter-gatherers the women did the relatively safer work.
And yet ironically, they seemed to only every have one black male character at a time, as soon as a new one came into the show the old one got killed off real quick.
The Consistently Delusional are often downright delightful to interact with when you learn their boundaries. Really old, crusty guy at work thinks he owns the Dallas Cowboys, but he's a total sweetheart so long as you don't push back on his one piece of crazy.
