Does it matter when too many quietly did as they were told, and too many didn't take up arms to protect themselves?

His work is done. The slippery slope has been engaged.

More people probably trusted him than not and still do. I still have no idea what he really did that anyone couldn’t have done during the pandemic.

“Should we lockdown?”

“Eh, I guess it’d be safest and for the best.”

“Should we stay locked down?”

“We’ll stay locked down according to the numbers.”

Even if you side with the decisions, almost anybody could have made them. I don’t see what he brought to the table of value.

I trusted him for about 2 and a half weeks because I figured he was the standard pencil pushing nerd

It does matter. The issue is you still want to somehow gain control of the whole system and right the entire ship. At this point we are on a life boat and shoring it up for the voyage upcoming, so as long as we get this boat ready, and fill it with steadfast and ready people, we don't need to worry ourselves about the people sitting up on the top deck drinking cocktails and laughing at us while their ship is going down.

Forget the system. But embrace the few who are coming to our lifeboat. Noah didn't take everyone on his ark, many are already lost. Don't let their loss demoralize you from saving yourself and the good souls around you. Don't look back at Sodom and Gomorrah. Keep walking forward.

will never trust government health experts
will never trust health experts
will never trust experts

An expert is someone who is both credentialed and agrees with the GAE regime.

Apropos of nothing, I've been wondering of late what the effects of--theoretically of course--the institution of public, universally-broadcast, brutal, enthusiastic, unrelenting, balls-to-the wall, crying and screaming, tissue-tearing multi-angle HD face-in-the-dirt rape would be as punishment for the highest of crimes against humanity.

Surely if self-aggrandizement and personal gain is the motivation for a crime like this, humiliation and degradation in equal-but-opposite proportion would be the most suitable outcome and future deterrent, no? For crimes that damage billions of lives, a real butt-fucking of biblical proportions, to be spoken of in hushed tones for a generation?

We shall call it... the Gadaffi treatment.

On a completely unrelated tangent, I wonder if our dear M. Fauci has ever shared a room with M. Rocco Siffredi? If not, this is an oversight. I am sure they would be delighted in each others' company. We could even round out the guest list with the following additions:

M. Gaspar Noé

M. Vincent Gallo

M. Lars von Trier

Such an important man as our dear Anthony "The Science" Fauci would surely delight in an evening in such esteemed company. A meeting of the minds and other assorted organs could and should be arranged, for all humanity's edification. Drinks are on me you sonofabitch.

I have no idea who those people are.

Let me just look them up while I'm at work.

I'm surprised the Wall Street Journal even posted this. Hopefully they don't issue an apology.

Tuskegee, the AIDS epidemic, now COVID. Not a great track record from government "experts."

It's just an expansion of the distrust all government and institutional organizations have accrued over the past ten-ish years since the left started becoming more and more authoritarian and unhinged. They just can't help making every single faucet of life some kind of political point scoring game, and the more they do it, the further any trust in anything they have a hand in is lowered, to the point where I can't name a single non-biased one that functions independently of ideology.
