do you think reflexively opposing anything and everything his charitable foundation does just because he's a dumb global warming promoter (who also has a huge short position on Tesla, lol) is big brain or something?
his foundation is a huge charity, and the vast majority of what it does is just ordinarily charity stuff like fighting malaria, which is what this sterile male mosquito eradication program is.

...yes? Bill Gates is cartoonishly evil, he'd have you and your entire family tortured if he could profit a single cent off of it. You'd have to be braindead to think he does this for the "good of humanity" or whatever the fuck.
His work in trying to reduce malaria is probably the only thing he's been consistently good about.
But reading into it, I can see where that effort could have driven him further into vaccine hysteria/hero complex.
Removing the diseases that were suppressing the African's population is far from a good thing. Which he immediately followed by massively subsidizing their food supplies to skyrocket their population even further.
Once the gravy train of free food and medicine from the West stops, that continent is going to explode. And they'll probably invade Europe en masse.
This is actually a great thing and the piece of shit article hides what is really going on. This is the long-proven sterile male mosquito control technique, which the article never mentions, because the author of the article wants to hide the truth from you and instead spur your imagination to conspiratorial ends: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sterile_insect_technique
The best mosquito control is to mass produce sterile males which do not bite and then flood an area with them. They end up crowding out all the fertile males and shooting blanks which causes the mosquito population to die out.
The Gates foundation might do some dumb shit, but it also does some pretty standard, run-of-the-mill charity work like this.
I'm all for attacking the single-celled disease organism rather than "higher" organisms that suffer from and carry the disease in question. If they can be prevented from spreading the diseases that cause problems, it's better than literally playing God with entire species that may well have an unseen place in the ecosystem. The human beneficiaries of this will just have to be taught - forcefully, if necessary - that they don't need to have kids in packs any more when all or even most of them aren't dying of malaria and shit.

Holy shit you guys are really giving Bill Gates the benefit of the doubt on this one after the last 30 years?

what's that line? we have the tools to play god but none of the wisdom?
Next, vaccine delivery via mosquito. What could go wrong?
plus male mosquitoes don't bite humans, only the females do.
Plus they have done this for years and years in multiple regions of the planet and it is perfectly safe.

Fuck Amy Mekelburg, the author.
Bill Gates can release 30 million skeeters a week, but it's illegal to let a single invasive fish back into the lake you found it.
Okay.
