Finally got enough money or is he going to have endless "book deals" to keep him flush with cash as he admires a poster of himself on the wall of his study.
He's probably pulling a Bezos and trying to slink into the background while still pulling the strings.
Most likely gunning for the WHO top job. Tedros' term is up soon, I think.
He's rightly paranoid that people want his head and getting while the gettings good.

He's afraid of Republicans taking over the House in January.
Maybe they can have the FBI raid his house after his employment.
If the FBI was actually interested in pursuing crimes and not just harassing the regime's enemies, they could look into how he laundered the gain-of-function research money through the Eco Health Alliance to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in violation of U.S. laws.
Why would Fauci "step down?"
That's not an efficient way to hang someone for their crimes.
Most hanging scaffolds have a trap door at the base. At the very least, have him stand on a chair and kick it out from under him.
