Because you can't groom a highway.

The whole fetish is about deceiving people with an obviously false reality. "It's family friendly" is just another deception that turns them on.

Oh. well... You see 'grooming' in this case actually means, picking up trash, and sweeping gravel off the roadway, along with marking down areas in need of repair. You'll need bear repellent and some trash bags.

Yeah if they want to go clean a highway in drag, good for them but sorry that isn't that newsworthy haha.

However, it is when the highway is now a kid.

Good point, but I wouldn't care if they did any of that other stuff. We all know their end game.

I think the idea of drag queen story hour is to have children exposed to lgbt people so they don't grow up to be "bigots". It's not about charitable works.

"drag queens massacred"...

Because the drag queens who used to do this aren't what the media want to focus on because these are normal people. I don't know if they are still doing these types of charity drives since it's been a few years since I actually paid attention to the community in any real depth beyond trying to minimize the backdraft.

Yeah, it is a "normal" deviation. Common and by itself not a genetic end point (many transvestites, historically, have been otherwise straight men).

Its not my cup of tea, but it's pretty normal and wouldn't be an issue if we kept our weird sexual quirks to ourselves.

The broken windows idea seems to apply to human sexuality too.

The more weird shit people are allowed to talk about the more degenerate fucked up behavior you get

I actually kind of agree that it's a "normal" deviation. And just to be clear, I don't mean that it's normal, and I don't mean that it's desirable or positive. What I mean is that thre do seem to be men who dress up as women in most or all cultures, and across history. Like u/thepalagoon said, historically, it's frequently been the realm of straight men who dress up. The Bible specifically calls out men who wear women's clothing (and vice versa)! If that hadn't been a thing back then, there would have been no reason to mention it. There are examples in Islamic lands (male dancers), India (Hijra), Roman/Greece, etc.

IMHO, people "break" in predictable ways. E.g., One of the common ways women break is becoming hoarders.

One of the ways men can "break" is becoming a transvestite.

What I don't understand is how it went from being entirely underground / fringe / weird to idolized and praised in America in about 20 years.

Precisely because it was "weird, fringe, underground" and therefore ... "taboo".

The jews will stop at nothing to enforce degeneracy.

"Normal and not a genetic endpoint" is a pretty poor standard.

With that as the standard, we discard almost all cancer research. After all, it's endemically common, normal, and not a genetic endpoint. We give up on Alzheimers, too.

I think humanity can hold itself to a higher standard than "normal and not a genetic endpoint".

It's a fair point here, but:

"normal" in a psychological sense is very different from "normal" in a medical sense.

It's a maladaptive behavior, sure, but it's been documented in various ways for centuries. I'd assume as far back as recorded history goes, in fact. Very different from the current "I can actually change my gender" mindset.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but there's a very important demarcation line between "men who get off in some way on dressing like women" and "men who believe by wearing a wig and makeup they can become women."

Transvestites are straight men who dress up as women for a psychological need, there's enough of them that it's normal.

Gays are drag queens. Trannies are just messed up. Neither are enough to be normal.

normal people don't get off on wearing their mom's dresses.
