The LDP has governed Japan for almost all of the post-war period. It's the party of Shinzo Abe, who was probably one of the most based world leaders of modern times, but it seems to have undergone a complete ideological takeover in the 2 years since he left office.
Very true. Before recent times, preferring the citizens of your own nation and preferring economic and immigration policies that benefit your country and strengthen your nation's culture was never an extreme view ... it was the norm.
This is why I always hated the idolatry and fetishism of Japan in the face of SocJus topics. Because 95% of that kind of talk was from people whose exposure is entirely based on media, the vast majority of which would be anime.
Japan isn't immune to this shit. And the narrative that it was ultimately just lead people to not pay attention to the creep that was inevitably happening, and then there's outright blatant censorship.
Well at least back then it was nationalist authoritarianism, and not controlled by internationalist forces and finance. (Also they were ruled by the military before not the Emperor. the Emperor worship was more cause he was considered a symbol of the country and connected to religion)
but now the military have lost their power and the country has become a vassal state and vulnerable to international forces and finance.
Not excusing Japan, because speech control is tyranny, but in context it's not surprising or strange for them. Most countries have some speech laws. By itself not a sign of globalism or wokism. But political correctness has been creeping in so don't expect them to stay based for long.
Insularity protects from globalism some, but lends itself to naval-gazing and self-importance too. So:

It's not better there; it's just Japanese-style bad.
ASIDE: You will always be gaijin, there; ... zero full-integration in that culture. But BLM has made it clear that full-integration can be reversed at any moment, by former gaijin, even...
Lol I'm pretty sure harrasing someone till they kill themselves is actually a problem unlike pointing out journalists giving favorable coverage to a woman they're passing around like a ketchup bottle
Maybe instead of punishing insults they should look at their abhorrent work-life balance and rampant feminism issues.
They did deal with it. They banned talking about it. Problem solved.
Liberals pushing for more censorship? What a shocker!

LDP is "supposed " to be their conservative party. ( whilst CDP are progressives) .
But honestly some of the things they have done make me question that.
Many countries don't have a real conservative party
And many are sorely lacking nationalist parties.

Damn, you guys really just don't know anything about the countries other than America and maybe Canada and UK.
Japan is like what USA was in 2014 or so.
So we can expect Japanese Trump to be elected in 2024 and the JP entertainment apparatus to break their brains and go mask off to a feral degree?
"It's time to build a wall, to prevent those damned atlantans from crossing across our borders!"
Wow. I thought Japan was based

Turns out the same people that worshiped an emperor 100 years ago will go along with totalitarian ideas.

Thus putting it on par with countries such as Canada. How the mighty have fallen. Honest Abe would be disappoint.
While what happened to Hana Kimura was a tragedy, this is going way too far.
And I say that as a wrestling fan.
