These are the places pushing legalization/decriminalization of all drugs, then they wonder why drugged out crazy people do crazy shit.
That never made sense to me. They claim it's better, because if they don't get arrested... they are safer or some bullshit. They just need special comfy places where they can do drugs peacefully. That will make crime lower.
Of course crime is "lower" when you just legislate that crime is not crime. If suddenly murder and rape and robbery weren't crimes by law, we would have a lower crime rate, surprise surprise.
This is what they did in some European countries. They stopped enforcing and keeping records on drug related deaths, crimes, and usage. So now all the Western liberal media can report their skewed statistics showing their drug addiction, crime, and mortality rates are down...Well, of course they are, you stopped keeping accurate records of it.
Also, these places just made a demographic of life long drug addicts that are now dependent upon the government to support their habit. Sounds like a solid plan. What happens when the government can't supply the needs of their growing numbers of addicts? Well, it doesn't matter because when those addicts lie, cheat, rob and steal to get their fix it isn't a criminal offense anymore.

This instance is obviously over the top but walking by Cal Anderson park on any "normal day" will usually yield quite a few people nodding off, "unhomed persons" screaming at you and throwing things, etc. Then you can go a few blocks over and find apple stores and boutiques adorned with pride flags.
That's really sad. The area used to have so many rich hippies I thought the word chakra should be burnt into a wall. Maybe they used the wrong crystals... Meth for example.

I remember arrests but don't know about any trials. Including in the murder cases.
