A cult game from a leader of gamergate is going to get a moving picture adaptation (hopefully not shit as usual)

That headline is a sentence but I don't know what the fuck it's trying to say.
For those who think the headline was written by a malfunctioning AI or someone having a stroke, I will explain the joke.
There are standard patterns for headlines relating to actors and creators, such as the following:
Firstame Lastname's Name of Show/Movie/Game he Created Makes News
Show/Movie/Game Name's (Name of Actor/Writer who was in Show) Does Newsy Thing
Firstname "Role He is Famous for Playing" Lastname Walks and Chews Gum
The true and correct name of the property Alice McGee made is "American McGee's Alice," and due to rigorous journalistic standards (hah!) the full name is always used when referring to the game.
When the game came out, there were headlines like "American McGee's American McGee's Alice Wins Random Award"
Putting "American McGee's American McGee's Alice" in the headline became a running joke.
David Hayter wrote X-men and X-men 2, and is known for playing the voice of Solid Snake in the Metal Gear games, and is slated to write the Alice TV show, so when you cram all that into the headline as well, you get "David "Solid Snake" Hayter's American McGee's Alice" and oh, how we are laughing.
Oh, and of course the show is going to suck. What year do you think this is?
Seriously, I read it like 3 times and it's fucking incomprehensible garbage. How did an editor look at that and think 'yeah, this is good headline'?
Game adaptations were shit even back when the media wasn't nearly so converged as it is now. If it isn't shit because it's turned into woke trash (which I actually doubt in this case) it will probably just be plain old shit, unfortunately.
Yeah, right? I can't really think of a single video game that turned into a good movie/TV series. The ones that did trace back to a book or something. Yet they screw those up now too, e.g. The Witcher.
I do think that Detective Pikachu and Sonic The Hedgehog bucked the trend of generally disliked video game movies, which isn't to say that they're good, just that quite a few fans of those franchises seem to like them and they saw some success.
That seemed to be a bit of a "catching
lightninga spark in a bottle" event though. The former movie benefited from memes about Danny DeVito, the latter from Sonic's initially ugly face and Jim Carrey. Both also had very low expectations and are aimed at a young audience.Yeah, had zero expectations for sonic but ended up enjoying it after a referral.
Depends on the network. If it's CW? Expect peak wokeness (or a first season that is tolerable and a second season full of wokeness). Netflix? Exact same deal as CW.
FX? Complete toss-up. Paramount+? Complete toss-up (but don't be surprised if it is woke). Hulu? Exact same position as Paramount. HBO+? Same as Hulu. Disney+? You won't even have to wait for the second season for it to go woke. Amazon TV? Same as Disney+. Apple TV? Same as Amazon TV.
Did Polygon have a stroke while writing that headline?
gamergate had no leaders
It's a running joke.
The Alice games were pretty based. Madness Returns kicked the shit out of that godawful Devil May Cry reboot Capcom tried to shove down our throats the same year.
Did he find out what happened to his sister?
I don't think he quite did.

But I think it's a red herring and coincidence that he's latched on this out of desperation. He's a fantasy minded guy, it was probably something very much more mundane (bad crowd, drugs, some kind of a rather typical American fairyless tale).
Good game but I’m so jaded and trust nothing

What in the fuck is that Polygon tweet? Is that fucking shit even English?
I've read this 10 times and I'm no closer to understanding what the fuck it is saying. Did I stroke out? Did they stroke out? Somebody has stroken out.
David Hayter, voice of solid snake and writer of X-men 1 and 2, is writing a TV series based on American McGees "Alice"
Is English that hard for those "journalists"?
She gon' be black
I got cancer trying to read polygons tweet. Not more than usual, but a distinctly different kind
They're adapting macgees 9th grade girl who thinks she's edgy version of Alice in Wonderland and David Hayter may or may not be involved. Cool
