A cult game from a leader of gamergate is going to get a moving picture adaptation (hopefully not shit as usual)

Game adaptations were shit even back when the media wasn't nearly so converged as it is now. If it isn't shit because it's turned into woke trash (which I actually doubt in this case) it will probably just be plain old shit, unfortunately.
Yeah, right? I can't really think of a single video game that turned into a good movie/TV series. The ones that did trace back to a book or something. Yet they screw those up now too, e.g. The Witcher.
I do think that Detective Pikachu and Sonic The Hedgehog bucked the trend of generally disliked video game movies, which isn't to say that they're good, just that quite a few fans of those franchises seem to like them and they saw some success.
That seemed to be a bit of a "catching
lightninga spark in a bottle" event though. The former movie benefited from memes about Danny DeVito, the latter from Sonic's initially ugly face and Jim Carrey. Both also had very low expectations and are aimed at a young audience.Yeah, had zero expectations for sonic but ended up enjoying it after a referral.
Depends on the network. If it's CW? Expect peak wokeness (or a first season that is tolerable and a second season full of wokeness). Netflix? Exact same deal as CW.
FX? Complete toss-up. Paramount+? Complete toss-up (but don't be surprised if it is woke). Hulu? Exact same position as Paramount. HBO+? Same as Hulu. Disney+? You won't even have to wait for the second season for it to go woke. Amazon TV? Same as Disney+. Apple TV? Same as Amazon TV.
