I also hate when a tweet is linked and you open it, you can only see 3 replies at a time even with an account. It's beyond annoying, as you've to go to the page address, and remove all the added stuff, just to see the replies as a whole, and not in 3 tweet blocks.
Not sure if you can do it on mobile, but on desktop you can tell your browser to essentially reject all cookies from Twitter and you are able to use it without an account

Shit like this makes me glad I made an account over there years ago. It may not be verified (because I'll be damned if they're getting my phone number for their database) but at least it works. Still as the saying goes, the more they tighten their grasp, the more users will slip through their fingers. They'll just migrate to Gab, et al, and carry on while Twatter turns into an even bigger echo chamber.

If you use private window with Brave (incognito for Chrome) you can still browse freely without the overlay coming up.
