In general no, they've been doing it since the beginning. But now that tranny athletes are allowed to compete as "women" they'll have access to female only spaces like locker rooms and they'll have the opportunity in the Olympics context, which they didn't always have.

Then some "trainers" from DDR arrived with their medical kits and some "diaspora nationals" became their lab rats breaking records here and there. 3 years into that and 100m running had 50 kids competing.
Huge differences in performance for one or another reason simply kill sports.
