As the successor to the most profitable entertainment product of all-time in Grand Theft Auto V, there’s a chance for GTA 6 to be something bigger and better if it takes itself seriously.
If there's one thing the most successful entertainment product of all-time needs, it's to radically change itself in order to appeal to a broader market.
It's funny how no one wants to diversify or "update" stuff that has failed. Diversity and inclusion and feminism are these magical "cure all" solutions, but they are only ever administered to already-successful creations.
Sure there is. Old games still sell well. "Retro" games sell well. Apolitical AAA titles sell well. Fan-service laden eastern titles sell well. Shit, cosmetic DLC for characters that don't resemble degenerates sells well. Folks not arguing with normies on a normie platform is not proof to the contrary. Assuming you don't outright fail with marketing, good games sell.
The biggest issue is funding. Outside of retro and low-poly style games, where product differentiation is a problem, asset creation costs a lot. More often than not, that means external stakeholders, and all of the influence that comes with them.
I knew that rdr 2 would be their last good game. The cracks were starting to show around GTA V. All they care about is milking their shitty online games as much as they can.
It's not about the money, it's about the message....
(...but it's also Take-Two, so it's still about the money, but they'll milk every dime and dollar out of the multiplayer portion of the game while the single-player will be a vehicle for globohomo propaganda)
Well all of the main players at Rockstar who made GTA so good have left so what do you expect. Many of us were thinking perhaps they would choose a retro setting again because in that case they could "get away" with being edgy and brush it off as "oh thats just how people talked back then".
I'd like to remind people that GTA IV wasn't exactly edgy or funny. It was a very grounded and serious game, and in my opinion waaaay better than GTA V. So this could still be good.
The only thing V has over IV is a better online. If IV had V's online people would definitely still be playing it today, myself included.
BLM simulator 2021?
So no change in the game then?
Everything woke turns to shit.
Hey at least they are admitting it is also taking the fun out of it.
The real product will be online. Single player will be a mediocre excuse because they can't ship the multiplayer alone.
And they're going to ban anyone who has fun online. Only in-game vaccination events and left-wing protests allowed!

Gonna be woke
Unsurprising. Escapism, humor and all things enjoyable are strictly forbidden.

It's kinda expected, but still said to see it confirmed.

That's the new Saint's Row. Goodbye fun character creator, hello woke edgelord Mary Sue.
Ah, taking the saints row route, that’s totally not going to alienate the fan base. At least shark cards will keep their whales funding them.
Then why make it?

then it's not GTA.
woke humor is retarded and cringey.. i gaurantee rockstar's staff and dev team looks way diff in the last 20 years.
of course they would never blame themselves for it, theyll blame the fans for not liking their vomit.
Most of the actually talented people left Rockstar between GtaV and just before RD2 released.
Wow, if only I cared enough to actually considering buying another Rockstar product for the rest of my life.
"What if we take out all the distinct features that make the game good?"

Rockstar has been dead since they did GTA 5. They are dead. I'll never buy anything from them again.
