I've watched the news a few times out of curiosity recently. Most news segments are less than 30 seconds a piece, with several minutes of ads between them. I don't understand how anyone can tolerate it.
Sesame Street pacing. There were warnings about the effects that this would have on young brains right back when the show first came out. Now we're into the third generation of it.
I use to run into people who just worked out, enjoyed the outdoors, had hobbies beyond video games and drinking. They didn't care about the next big movie or sport ball game. had no care for the drama of others.
Fast forward a few years after college. I no longer watch cable, no sportsball, no cable news, gym, church and social groups. No longer anticipate movies or the next big thing. Mentally i feel detox'd and focused on whats important.
I am now as free as those I didn't understand years ago. And i am happier for it. I broke the programing and no longer a NPC.
