I've been 100% yarr since kazaa came out. In the beginning, when HDs were more expensive, I recorded everything to DVDs and played it back on my TV using a DivX compatible player that played WMV, mp4, xvid etc.
At about 2003? I switched to XBMC/Kodi because I finally hooked up a home theater PC and it had a cool interface. Since then I was adding 1-2tb of content every year. Only occasionally deleting or just losing data due to HD fails.
After 2016 the amount of content that has been worth keeping dropped through the floor. I've been on the same 6tb disk as my latest data drive since then and I still have at least 3tb to spare. Nowadays even if something might be downloading it ends up not worth keeping.
Most recently it was that Free Guy movies that was so empty that I ended up deleting it as soon as finished it.

It's the biggest thing to happen to Star Wars since Episode III. That's how you gauge interest in media: you see how much of an impact it had on the culture. Episodes 7-9 had none.
People do push back against this thing, but they do it quietly. They do it by simply not caring any more. They're not going to riot on the streets or write angry social media posts. They're just going to change the channel, because that's all they need to do.
The exact same thing will happen here, and the journalists will write article after article that the reason No Audience To Watch failed was because of racism and sexism and for no other reason at all.
It needs more of this crap, because more and more people are coming out against this nonsense. For instance, the actual editor for Star Wars original trilogy shitting on top of Kathleen Kennedy was gold!

I'm a major proponent of keeping culture alive no matter what. I grew up Consuming Product from well before I was born and I think all children should as well, if not just to cultivate an understanding of where we came from, how things have changed, and how things can improve.
But remakes aren't some sinister plot to destroy the original. They're just business. Skylar the Zoomer doesn't want to play a game that's capped at 640x480 and uses prerendered graphics. He doesn't want to play his dad's childhood MMO. He wants new and shiny. Even if it's the same thing, that coat of paint means everything to him, because he is a child and children are shallow.
The best thing you can do is vet everything your child is interested in. Shield them from the repulsive propaganda. Don't let them watch Blue's Clues Mutilate Your Children Spectacular or Talking Head Urges White Genocide. But do talk about it. Let them know that there are evil people who use entertainment as a smokescreen for malicious intent. Teach them how to tell the difference.
