For reference, the trigger for this violence appears to have been the imprisonment of Jacob Zuma, former president of South Africa, for contempt of court after he refused to take part in an inquiry into corrupt arms deals during his time as president. KwaZulu Natal, where the riots are happening, is Zuma's home province.
They seem to be spreading. This is just an opportunity to loot shit. Same as Minneapolis, Baltimore, or Ferguson. The trigger could have been anything.
The State Security Agency has alleged that former members, loyal to Zuma, who where fired by the current administration are instigating the unrest. The military has been deployed to strategic locations for this reason. I wouldn't rule out political factionalism just yet.
Well its gonna be a shame to get all of that blood all over the walls said no one in the government as they sent in the military to remove Zuma's voters from the rolls.
This is the inevitable result of a wicked combination of both Socialism and Racial Entitlement. Socialism teaches people to be dependent upon the state, and when they feel like they want or could take something: they do. When you turn around and support Racial Entitlement as part of that same effort, they feel that they deserve to steal shit.
I notice a lot of solid red shirts and hats, indicating the involvement of the EFF's members and other socialist causes. I wouldn't be surprised if the EFF was involved in supporting the looting and rioting, as many on the Left do here, considering they are self-identified Marxist-Leninists; and many on the American Left have taken a liking to them and their activities.
