Imagine if nonprofits lost tax-exempt status for doing things which are typically affiliated with the Democratic party. We wouldn't have any left.

Planned Parenthood exists to launder tax payer money for democrats; killing babies is just a bonus.

Wait, hold up....

You do not qualify as an organization described in IRS Section 501(c)(3). You engage in prohibited political campaign intervention

Does God actually intervene in elections?! AND the IRS knows?! They know more than they are letting on!

Nobody should get tax-exempt status, because nobody should have to pay income tax. There must have been a good reason for the founders to put "no head tax" in the Constitution.

I'd be interested to know what the idiots that voted to allow it were thinking.

What's that particularly got to do with income tax?

The top 1% pay basically no income tax due to lobbying/loopholes/fraudulent accounting/offshoring. It mostly fucks over the middle class, who pay a huge portion of income tax, especially with respect to what share of income they gain. The large cities of the west/NE have already had a big squeeze on the middle class, and the South has not had that happen as much yet.

Oh that's true. Well, anybody who gets a paycheck for a living gets screwed over by income tax. The degree depends on how big their paycheck. For instance, probably pro athletes and the like get screwed over the worst -- at least until they build up some assets to start evasion.

Anybody who can frame themselves as a business can avoid taxes. I've been thinking of going this route.

Because the US has what is called a progressive tax system, in theory those who earn their money all at once would have to pay more than someone who makes the same amount over decades, but the problem is that immediate fame and wealth often draws people who know how to break the system and also cause officials to turn a blind eye. I don’t like income tax, but if we do have to have one, a flat tax on income would be harder to break and would be less complicated to those who don’t have the time to figure out the BS tax system in the US.

Simple. They thought we needed to tax the rich more so more money could go to poor people.

I have been the constant advocate of an income tax along constitutional lines… I reiterate that through it only…will it ever be possible for the Government to be able to make idle wealth pay its just share of the ever-increasing burdens of taxation. source

Tax the rich, they say. Always. Yet, look at who pays the biggest portion of taxes, proportionally.

Proportions, to me, make sense because people who are bigger participants in the economy use more government services, without even any capture shenanigans.

an income tax along constitutional lines

If we change the Constitution, we can make all sorts of crazy taxes!

Top reason: the Feds use the income tax to take everyone's money then bribe the states to do their bidding. It's their primary way around limited powers (Wickard v Filburn is #2).

I support denying tax exemption to any group that does political shit, whether it's churches to abortion advocates. Charities are the only people who should be tax exempt! And those charities better not be spending more than 20% on themselves and none on political machinations.
