Manipulation of images used to be done by the media of totalitarian states. Now it's par for the course by our supposedly free media. See also: removing the 'Redskins' label from Biden's baseball cap.

They already have a spin for this: "It doesn't matter if we photoshopped or not; what's important is the message we're trying to send about saving the planet."

The other day there was a thing "What would the average American need to give up to fix polution" You know what I'd give up: China's industry. That's the sacrifice I'll make, I'll gladly watch the UN dismantle China's massive smoggy factories.

Let me guess. Neuter yourself if you are white. Eat bugs. Live in a tiny little box, never go out, never travel, never do anything fun.

Meanwhile the people of this world who contribute NOTHING keep having 15 kids each and do whatever and try to get any luxury they can steal from you, because they deserve it.

White people contribute the most to polution, because white people make cities and cars and computers and electricity and mass farming of once considered luxuries like meat and milk and fish, as opposed to stacking up dirt and finding food on the ground.

Then again, white people are also the only ones who have this weird fucking delusion of saving the world and feeding everyone else is a must. We are the only ones who believe Africans in the mud huts DESERVE and NEED iPhones and goatherds in the Middle East have a human right to going to malls.

If Global Warming was as imminent and inevitable a threat as they pose it to be...

It can be solved with just four of the USA's largest bombs. All global warming, solved for centuries if not longer.

"But that's barbaric!"

Yes. But the fearmongering is saying WE'RE ALL DEAD, 100%, DOOMED, BY 2050!

If we are, indeed, doomed, then ANY act that solves it is a reasonable act to take. An act that has a 100% chance of solving the problem, and takes less than a day to implement, would be used immediately.

The fact that China isn't a sheet of obsidian glass proves that global warming isn't exactly a world-ending threat. And anyone who thinks it is, should be out there with placards, saying "nukes for nature, Mother MOAB for Mother Gaia".

I don't think such an action is necessary, because I don't think the global warming crisis is as world-ending as they'd have me believe. But if I did believe it, logically and ethically I'd have no choice but to endorse nuclear war.

they are not going to make it again.

Sure they will. They will lie to your face and then attack you for disbelieving.

Eh, it's like the 3rd time I've seen them do a pathetically obvious Photoshop on par with the background curving out around some thot's ass.

I don't think they're feeling the need to adapt when there's almost 0 consequences ever time they get caught.

Everything on the "news" is propaganda. The people in charge don't want you to be informed, they want you to be distracted.

The worst part about this is that they’re saying this change happened due to lockdowns. Climate change lockdowns are a conspiracy theory, goy.

▲ 2 ▼
– Hand_Of_Node 2 points 5 years ago +2 / -0

It did happen due to lockdowns. They shut down the vehicles and factories making all the air pollution that had obscured the mountains for years.

When you see those pictures of cities covered with a brown cloud, that cloud comes from vehicle and factory exhaust.

Oh, you're some retarded kid?

if you're implying you don't believe fires and burning things make smoke, I would suggest you find an adult to take you camping, or just find a fireplace to build a fire in.

If you're just pretending to be stupid to troll, then I'll suggest you're probably not actually pretending.

I think you’re missing the point of the post, did you watch the video? The smoke wasn’t real. Maybe it could hypothetically be real, maybe not, but in this case it’s fake.

What is a catalytic converter.

A fire hazard, at least in some older vehicles with them. Don't park a car in a dry field, or you might accidentally start a grass fire under your car.

What is having way more background knowledge of this phenomenon than this single post on a website?

What is an ignorant and retarded kid who sees a single post and suddenly thinks he's knowledgeable and smert?

But go ahead and base your beliefs about the world on a BBC video. And remember to get vaccinated! Stupid kid.

Dude, I spent the last several years commuting to downtown Bellevue.

Some days, there would be a clear view of Mt. Rainier. Other days, even when it wasn't otherwise overcast or foggy, it would be hazy, and you couldn't really see Mt. Rainier.

And this was well before lockdowns.

Now, that's not to say that lockdowns had no effect on the overall haziness of the atmosphere. If I had to guess, I'd say, meh, probably it had some effect. But two pictures side by side doesn't tell us anything. I need data. I need statistics. I'll need some sort of trend analysis.

It's embarrassing how often I've seen this comparison made. "Wow, look at these two pictures. See how much difference (a single unisolated variable) makes!" People are fucking stupid and they just gobble it up.

Wow, look at these two pictures.

No thanks. I'm going to go by all those videos by residents I watched last year who stood on their rooftops and expressed amazement at how they had never seen those mountains before.

I know most of you are just going by this retarded post, so I forgive your ignorance.

The thing is, even if the images were real, that wouldn't really say anything about climate change. Days like the "before" could still happen now, and days like the "after" could still have happened before. They could have purposefully chosen pictures to mislead, or simply have fallen victim to confirmation bias.

Forget about the spin they're trying to put on that. It really did happen when they cut off vehicle and factory air pollution. You can probably still find all the videos.

I could be way off base with this, but it's been a little while since the last time I posted it. You're either shilling too hard, or you need to work on your troll game a bit.

Am I really the only one in this comment thread who watched all those videos last year where they could finally see the mountains once the factories and vehicles stopped running?

Or are all of you so fixated on that nonsense that was linked at the top that your brains have simply stopped working?

However they manipulated that photo, it did seem to be the case that preventing people from driving, and closing all the factories, did reduce the air pollution to the point that the mountains became more visible than they had been in many years.

Stopping vehicles + closing factories = less air pollution = greater air clairity.

There were quite a few videos of this phenomenon last summer, and they weren't all wearing pink and blue t shirts.
