Failing NY Times changed headline on ex-CDC director saying WuFlu may have come from lab. They are bending over backwards to defend one theory over another. It’s the opposite of objective. (twitter.com)

OK, a question - because the NYT isn't capable of being honest if it conflicts with their ideology - is the theory "debunked"? I know the CCP wishes we'd all just shut up about it before somebody mentions the word "reparations" but that's not the same thing as "not being true".

It was never "debunked".

They "debunked" strawman hypothesies, such as one according to which the virus was artificially built bit by bit, then claimed this proves the virus did not leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

If you breed dogs selecting for agressivity, size and strenght in your backyard and several escape and establish a breeding population outside ;

The fact that you did not genetically engeneer the dogs dosen't "DEEBOONK" that the dogs came from your backyard and that you made them more dangerous.

No, it's not. China refused access for a year, and owns the WHO anyway.

Also note that lab studied the same type of virii, was known for letting shit lose prior.

I believe the WHO investigated and determined that there wasn't a lab breach. But the WHO is china's bitch so that's basically like saying they investigated themselves and found no wrong doing.

When did the WHO investigate?

Was it like how they had "a team on the ground monitoring the situation in Wuhan" but actually it was one dude in a hotel in Hong Kong?

The WHO sent someone who has connections to the Wuhan lab https://archive.vn/XosB1. He blamed people in the States for the year-long investigation delay. He noticed they deleted a bunch of data, but didn't look into it, because he trusted that none of it was related. He himself led projects about Chinese bat-derived SARS research in China https://archive.vn/ENvq0, and funneled US taxpayer money to the Wuhan lab. https://archive.ph/PETyS

I remember one of the Youtubers that cover China (I think Serpentza or ADVChina) mentioned that an army representative on Chinese TV stated they're developing a virus superior to the atomic bomb. This was before "the new normal."

I don't know, saw an article about it yesterday, typical media all moving in lockstep with their narrative peddling.

It said they'd conducted an investigation but I didn't bother to look into it because even if they actually did, it still would just be an "investigation" and worthless anyway.

Far from debunked. Plenty of good reason to suspect it was lab grown. Nothing conclusive one way or the other at this point.

Every bit of evidence we have points to lab grown, this virus didn’t jump, otherwise we would have seen thousands of bats infected with this prior.

There's no fucking evidence for the double zoonosis theory either. It's literally true that the lab origin is more likely, having no evidence for either theory, but the NYT has to defend their masters.

China accidentally leaked SARS-1 from their virology labs several times.

But we are supposed to believe it is impossible they accidentally leaked SARS-2 from one of their virology labs which work Coronaviruses and gain of function... With horseshoe bats as lab animals...

Horseshoe bats were not commonly sold at the Wuhan seafood market, are not commonly eaten by locals, and the species dosen't live within hundreds of kilometers of Wuhan.

The first cases have no link to the seafood market. Wuhan virology lab very close to the market studies Coronaviruses, and has horseshoe bats as lab animals.

"DEEBOONKED THEORY!"

You don't even need to "genetically engeneer" the virus for it to gain bits from other strains. Just infect the same host with multiple strains, and they recombine when they happen to co-infect the same cells to replicate.

they're so against lab leak it's almost like it was a prototype bioweapon.

Half a lifetime ago I worked with people who thought engineering a bioweapon for economic warfare would be a good idea. If you go through the checklist of what they "theorized" such a weapon would look like, it would look a lot like what we've seen the last year. Deadly enough initially to overwhelm medical system and cause panic, but not kill enough people to warrant the nukes to fly in response.
