Did anyone ask for this?

No and we didn't ask for it 30 years ago in Kings Quest 4 but gaming press at the time was journalizzming all over that.
And I don't recall anyone giving a shit that lara croft was a chick, except some fat cunts who got butthurt when they saw 4 poly tiddies that were perky instead of saggy like theirs.
I had no problems with KQ4, since Roberta Williams (the chick who wrote the games) had already started to include other parts of the King's family, and it wasn't exactly a "manly-man" franchise. She's also always stayed cool about politics in gaming even with several journalists trying to bait her into saying woke stuff.
My response was a bit schitzo so let me state it better. Chicks as main characters is fine. Chick centered stories are fine. There is room for all kinds of characters and stories. Even faggot and tranny and racism and sexism stories can be made interesting. So nothing against kq4, I only very briefly played it so don't really have an opinion on the game quality or how it compared to its contemporaries or others of that series and genre.
The problem is the virtue signaling that comes out whenever those stories/games/movies/creative works are made. To use the enemies' language every promotion of a character or media that "celebrates" a particular victim group is a marginalization of normal white male Christians. You can't promote one group based on immutable characteristics without implying that those characteristics create superiority. That is how language and the attention economy works and THEY KNOW IT.
The second problem is the idpol becomes the first line of defense when there is any criticism of the work that promotes it. And it pushes out any ability to have meaningful content analysis.
It wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t know exactly why they were doing it.
I recently got an emulator set up for Perfect Dark and Joanna is great but this was clearly before all of this shit started.
Undoubtedly she will be able to punch out other characters 3 times her weight.
Cause you know men and women are the same!
To be fair, the main characters in all the GTA games are basically fucking fourth dimensional Terminators. Now, if she pulled some of that crap in a cutscene, that's another matter.
Let me guess. The female pictured here will not look anything like the new female protagonist and instead it will be a Stacey Abrams type.
I don't think most ask for or are bothered by female protagonists. I've played loads of such games and it never bugged me, and I've created female characters to be the protagonist in RPGs too. What we don't want is feminist protagonists.
at least portraying Stacey Abrams as a career criminal would be more honest than intended
Please include a mission to deliver a truck loaded with ballots to somewhere too. They will get me to buy it then.
Speak for yourself, I don't want female protagonists. They aren't credible as protagonists, even in a game like GTA where morals are hardly relevant.
Also, it's more cultural colonization. When do their things ever get gender flipped for us? Fuck them.
I didn't think I'd end up with a reply, but figured you'd disagree. I'd put you in the opposite of the most I said that wanted it. Albeit "most" can be something like 51% too.
But the point In was trying to make was its not the fact the virtual thing I'm moving around has virtual tits and vagina that bugs me. Most of the ones that aren't irritating are in older games. New games with female protagonists are usually totally ruined by being yet another manly woman doing man things because feminists force it and that's the part that's irritating.
And the thing is, you get the weirdest complaints in the weirdest of places.
South Park: Stick of Truth. Great game, had fun playing through it. But it would NOT make sense if you could be a girl, if one knows ANYTHING about the show, and the storyline of the game - they would have had to have made two completely separate storylines to accommodate playing a girl. But some people either can't get that through their heads, or just complain about it without caring about the story or the source material.
No Man's Sky. People actually expect to see turtle people, robot people, and ... ugly buttface warrior people ... and other random otherworldly aliens with specifically female human mammaries and curves. It already uses "they" as an exclusive pronoun, because, well, everyone is an alien.
And I heard rumblings about it coming from Paranoia: Happiness is Mandatory, which, if I remember a brief session with the pnp version of it back in the day, is populated by androgynous clones for reasons that should be clear to anyone loyal to Friend Computer ....
It's almost as annoying as the nits who infest every single-player game forum with "waaah, how cum I can't play with my fwiends in Skywim?" Fucking faggots who never learned to do anything by themselves, who think every goddamn game needs multiplayer "because".
It didn't bother us in the past because we didn't know we were under attack yet. That's my honest opinion.
I bet if we could go back with the knowledge we have now, we could see that the agenda was already slowly forming.
We'd be fighting on less fronts, most likely, because some of the movements could be stopped.
As for stopping it entirely - not as long as people refuse to accept "muh good women" is not an argument.
based and theImpossible1 pilled
I think that a lot of gamers out there are like me, where they don't give a wet fart about whether the protagonist of a game is female - they just don't want a Mary Sue that's there to be a podium for the dev's SJW lecture points. Want to throw me a GTA game that's about a chick starting her own heist crew and using both her smarts and sexiness to take down the local cartel and install herself as the queen of the city? I'm down. Want to do the same but make it all about how she's "smashing the patriarchy of the existing systems" and bringing her M-to-F transgender partner (who only exists to remind everyone in every cut-scene that they're trans) along with her? Yeah, fuck that, I'm out.
There were literally four female playable protagonists in the original GTA.
But facts, huh.
I doubt too many people finished the first GTA.
No
Honestly I think it's probably better to just have people complaining about wanting a female main character than opening yourself up to attacks because you did "muh representation" wrong.
Because you know there will be hit pieces no matter what they do.
No, and this doesn't make me want to play a GTA game any more than I did before. I have never played a GTA game, I don't like vehicles in games. I have a hard enough time figuring out how to control my own freakin' character. Die, Mako, die.
I didn't ask for it and I normally wouldn't care either way.
But like everyone else here I'm wondering what R*'s motivations are and now I'm wondering how woke GTA6 will be.
I'm gonna be real with you, peak GTA was the original GTA 900 second demo where I wasted countless hours scaring NPCs into electrifying themselves on the train tracks and seeing just how many cars I could get to go off in a chain reaction of explosions.
Does asking for "more tiddies" count?
With her Mary Sue powers, it'll be the shortest speedrun ever. Won't even need to leave the store shelf to be done with the game.
I only play online anyway, and I can still be male. Keep Valerie's spawn out of my sight and maybe I'll consider buying the next game's online only version.
The same rumor mentioning the female protagonist mentions a male protagonist as well. I'm thinking rockstar might go for a Bonnie and Claude type of story.
The single player was always going to be a minimum effort token to justify the multiplayer anyway.
I don't mind playable female characters in GTA, but for fuck sake stop making characters some ghetto trash.
If GTA 6 had a male protagonist, there was zero chance that I was going to buy it. I still probably won't buy it, but I'll wait and see rather than dismissing the possibility out of hand.
It's Anita, so it's going to be a big whore and steal everyone's money while lying about having a job.
