Don't know about you guys but I am disappointed so far. What are your thoughts?
Edit: Meant Cyberpunk 2077... man I am a dumbass. Ty to everyone who let me know to correct. That being said, I was pretty fond of 2020 as a tabletop game.

Unironically disappointing
Then again, making proper breasts beyond C requires good jiggle physics, and CP2077 is demanding enough as is.
True, but think of last gen console peasantry. They already suffer. Imagine if their phone CPUs had to process boobs as well.
A certain dosage of that high-gloss shader on top of soft body deformations is pretty appealing I have to admit.
Honestly would love to see it just to see how broken it would be. cause physics in the game already struggles as is.
I was 100% expecting the game to flop, you can't push that much social justice apologia, add a big name celeb, and open a new division entirely for the game. These are all red flags for any gamer paying attention.
Hate to admit it but I think you are right. Had hopes that despite the rumors they could pull this off and make it something worth the hype but I really should know better by now. Guess that is what I get for applying pre-2014 hopes to post-2014 reality.
Is it like Daggerfall? I want a cyberpunk like Daggerfall.
I am out of the loop on this (I stopped following gaming news when they all went faggot SJW), I thought this game was supposed to be anti-SJW. Did the developers cuck out?
(still waiting to play, the forced patch is taking forever)
There were quite a few virtue signals over the last year from random devs and people at the company.
The only thing anti-SJW about it is that SJWs hate it, absolutely nothing else gives credence to it being so.
Dang well that’s disappointing to hear! I was so stoked that this game might not be politically correct seemed like it was gonna be a breath of fresh air.
Oh well.
I'll consider buying it...after about a year of bug fixes and some reports that poz is diminished (like being able to remove the trans flag from your truck).
I second this question. A mod that changes the trans symbol to a swastika for realism and bigger boobs for girls would be a nice start.
What did they fuck up? Drop some hate on me.
Lots of issues with optimization, sub-par character creation, UI is absolutely counter-intuitive, hacking is bland, gun play is bland, city is largely static and dull, bugs aplenty, bloated inventory, and a pretty inflexible story path (as far as I got, most responses were just "move the story forward with a different emoji").
Not all terrible, but for eight years of development incredibly lackluster.
So Skyrim with guns.
Except there is no skyrim, only whiterun.
Finally got started playing and you have a pretty accurate rundown here.
Disappointed honestly, because I was hoping to be immediately engrossed in it like I was with Fallout 4, or Red Dead. However I did initially think Skyrim was boring, and it took a couple of plays before I got hooked, hoping that is still possible with this game.
I thought it was only in active development for ~2 years?
Either way, it should be embarrassing that their game barely reaches the quality of a Bethesda game launch.
I would love to see that, would make Mercenaries 2 look playable in comparison
My thought is that I have absolutely no problem waiting for a sale for the inevitable GOTY-Edition. Am a little bit surprised about that, but not too much.
Totally agree. In its current state, it boggles my mind that they had eight years to come up with the current product. Hopefully it will be better later, but not worth sticker price at the moment.
Yea, bit too much pandering to progressives to get excited (and it still wasn't enough for the journos). I'll wait for the GOTY to drop to around 10-15 €.
I probably won't wait quite that long, but that's more or less where I am too. I'm going to wait for more (independent) reviews to come in, and for the release bugs and optimization issues (which are somehow still a thing in a game that's been in development so long!) to get worked out. Then I'll wait for a sale. I like Wither 3, and I'm looking forward to Cyberpunk, but I'm not going to let fond memories make me jump the gun. If Cyberpunk looks good, I'll get it when there's a decent sale.
Reading about the actual content, I think I'm going to wind up skipping the GOTY too.
Might be the first near-future cyberpunk-ian themed game I hear of that I wind up skipping. I don't like being teased with games that just make me wish for what could have been.
No, it's your typical anti-capitalist woke garbage.
I’m not super far in the game but so far it seems anti corporatist more than anti capitalist. Hell even treats Johnny silver hand the really extreme anti corpo rocker boy as being a nutter. Also shows literally everyone being armed and smaller businesses spitting in the face of draconian regulations from governmental corpo and criminal forces in a good light as well as vigilantism which would solve the US gang problem if we all reacted to seeing gang activity by running them over or shooting them. I mean it’s not the greatest writing ever but it’s hardly the ravings of a communist.
And if you meant the trpg not 2077 then like all trpgs the story can be literally whatever the dm writes up.
Unironically one of the central characters is exactly what you describe. I can't go into detail because it'd be a massive spoiler.
Suffice it to say this game has a fucking interesting story.
I knew it was going to be woke in the first 30 minutes.
I hate everyone in this. At this point, I just want to shoot every person i see in this, in the face. Twice.
Figured this might be CDPRs swan song... but its looking like that was W3. Meh.
- Uncle Tom out
T-fag is annoying, I SO hope you can kill that fuck at some point.
That’s a retarded complaint, play more than an hour of the game T bug dies in the damn opening act, the adds are randomly selected.
Really? Well now I have to get back to playing! Thank you kind stranger.
First, I'm really impressed by the graphics. Maybe it's because I have a new rig, but the attention to detail and the clean, smooth, detailed nuance applied to everything is impressive. You can actually read the words and see the pictures on magazines strewn about messy apartments. (As opposed to fallout-style low-res cover graphics only.) Ultimately, graphics do not equal fun, though.
That said - I was expecting an open-world RPG. So far it appears to be an entirely linear affair with pre-planned battles and little to no RPG elements. Your dialog options appear to typically consist of [1] Go along with the plot. [2] Attempt to make an independent decision but end up being brought right back to the same dialog options.
In fact I started two different games. One begins out in the desert in a beat up old car. One begins in a corporate high rise with suits and champagne. Despite being ostensibly completely different choices with completely different consequences, the two starting points end up causing you to play the exact same game with the exact same dialog choices within ten minutes of gameplay. Disappointing.
The combat sucks too. On normal mode it's typical video-game garbage: Everything dies based on the number of times you shoot it rather than skill or planning. On hard mode you can head-shot the same guy four times and then he'll then proceed to one-shot you. Feels like that needs some work.
Oh and it's SJW trash. Maybe not woke like many games are these days but it's still early to tell.
Wouldn’t really say it’s sjw it’s cyberpunk. Anti corporatist and generally transhumanist. Those are defining traits of the genre. And I thought most all of us where anti corporatists given we generally agree that company’s like google and amazon are basically allowed to get away with cartoon villain levels of ludicrous evil with impunity and that’s bad.
Transhumanist leanings determined by ones leanings towards worshipping a magic sky wizard or not.
Salty Christ fags downvoting without an argument as usual.
I'm still really early in the game (just got the implants), but I can already tell there is SJW bullshit. Just the voice/speaking behaviour/attitude of SJW's has a distinction to it that you can HEAR, and I have encountered 3 such voices already. Trainer, T-Vag and Regina. 100% SJW people. Especially since Regina was already begging me to not kill the criminals because they need to be saved and are a product of the system or some shit I was annoyed and didn't listen to her lol
I've got a pre-order I'm going to pick up later. I would have passed but I preordered it back in early 2019 and combined a bunch of coupons and discounts. I'm getting it for $33 with a steelbook and a $10 reward card, so I didn't want to cancel.
Back then I was totally hyped and my expectations are still pretty low. I really liked the Deus Ex games and FPS games are my favorite, so I'll be happy with much less than the massively overblown expectations. I'll probably wait until January or February to get a few patches before I try to play it and I don't have any new shiny gaming machines or hardware and will just be playing on a Xbox One X. I've never been that bothered by frame rate though, too many years of playing games on what hardware I could scrape together back when everyone else was talking about Voodoo cards and stuff--because it was all I had.
Cyberpunk 2020 on the other hand, I hate it. Are there cheat codes? How do we hack it? I want out.
Cyberpunk 2020 remastered- very realistic game, wish I was not forced to play:
Weird colored haircuts - check Anarchists - unfortunately replaced by communists Rebels - strangely not the same as the weird colored hair persons Implants - no Pocket size computers - check Dystopian future where corporations control most of your life and has government in their pocket - double check
Next expansion:
Hm. I was gifted this game recently. Haven't downloaded it yet. Should I return it, KiA?
It isn't so bad as a freebie. I wouldn't pay sticker price for it though.
Fair enough, thank you.
What are you disappointed about? No surprise it's a buggy mess, but I haven't heard much other than that. I know there was some social justice crap that they talked about months ago. I usually never spend $60 on a game, I did cop COD Cold War though and I'd say that one is worth it.
I think all of you hyped yourself up too much after the Witcher 3 and were going to be disappointed by literally anything short of god urinating into your throat.
They made one goodish game, if you had tempered your expectations to reasonable based on that you probably would have enjoyed this one too.
Game has no interest to me, but watching people fellate themselves about how this was going to be the greatest thing ever only proved that consumers are just as stupid as journalists say we are at times.
YOU DARE BLASPHEME AGAINST OUR BASED POLISH DEVS?
It was more like a cult than a fanbase
I never played the Witcher series myself. Was a fan of the Tabletop game though and was hoping for something better than what I got.
It was a feeding cycle. Witcher 3 being so popular is what got people talking and hyping this game up, which then became the hype train for everybody and gave it far more undue attention leading to this level of expectations.
Either way, it looks like a fine enough game to be "good" and after a patch gets the bugs out (Witcher 3 was riddled with them on launch, people forgot that too) it'll likely be a pretty strong AAA title. But the expectations for a launch day xmas miracle were not going to happen.
the first witcher game was the best one the second sucked and the third was ok but needed combat that wasn’t discount darksouls. Cyberpunk 2077 is good it’s what I expected a cross between skyrim and Deus ex.
I never tried the first game, but I found the second to be absurdly hard to get into. Just too many systems all at once just thrown at you in that tutorial arena. By the time I managed to even get passed that it had already lost any magic.
And discount dark souls games are offended to be compared to Witcher 3. Lords of the Fallen was more fun to actually play than that game. Its carried entirely by its writing and characters, and that was half done for them by the original series.
Lords of the fallen was knock off darksouls more than discount in my book.
I wouldn't know, as I haven't been able to get enough people interested in playing. As someone who's never really played tabletop games like it, Cyberpunk 2020 seemed like an interesting way to get started. It's old enough that it should hopefully be free of woke BS, assuming they haven't revised it.
As for Cyberpunk 2077, the video game based off the tabletop game, I haven't bothered with it yet. I'm still waiting for reviews from more reliable sources.
2020 was a pretty decent RPG. Was way better than V3 though. Currently thumbing through a pdf copy of the tabletop for Cyberpunk Red to see if they did better with the IP there, but as far as the video game goes, unimpressive.
female vioce acting is downright shit. constantly pulls me out and makes me imagine some thot standing in a recording booth, having no idea what's going on and thus not knowing how to do the lines.
goes from super-tough-chick with a voice rougher than a chainsmokers to whiney lil bitch on a sentence to sentence basis, completly disconnected from the actual dialogue.
the animations? pff, well they have artificial limbs, so i can pretend it's intentional and not just bad how robotic they are.
the graphics? what's so special about them? well i don't have a raytracing card, maybe that's it then.
the gunplay? luckily i play a stealthy-swordy gal. i'm no friend of the looking down sights thing modern games do anyways, but it feels worse than other games i'm forced to do that.
While all the woke faggots and sexual degenerates bitch about cyberpunk, based hitman 3 flies under the radar
That's not out yet right? Might actually be a game I'm looking forward to then. I'm still enjoying 1 and 2 though, such great games. I may not be ready to buy 3 until this time next year.
It comes out January 20th. Io interactive is also doing the next 007 game
black female Bond intensifies
They can leave that bullshit in the movie. Io said its gonna be a James Bond origin story
Holy shit I didn't know they were doing a 007 game. Sweet!
It'll come out in January 2022 for PC unfortunately
The title of your post needs fixing.
Can the mods fix this?
Just noticed I derped out on that. My bad and seconded!
My experience on the game so far...
It took 1 hour to install the game. And now 28 hours remain to install the forced patch.
3/10, still better than Last of Us 2.
Been saying for years that it was gonna be a disappointment and that it was pozzed and that CDPR was no where near as based as they used to be and that they’re pretty much going to be the next Bioware and everybody jumped up my ass about it, even back on KIA2. Well they ain’t laughing now!
Nah still laughing because the game is pretty fucking great.
I'd like to see the comparison to the Outer Worlds. Because that game had a woke message but beat you over the head with it in literally every conversation so I couldn't even complete the first world hub thing. So any fun gameplay or innovations Obsidian had made since FNV were wasted.
How does Cyberpunk measure up?
Outer Worlds had very little innovation over any game before it. It very much was just FNV with less content in space. I got it for free because my friends an impulsive retard, and was bored enough to finish it, and I felt my time would have been better playing Fallout.
That's judging it entirely on gameplay as well, and ignoring the forgettable generic story or the woke bullshit of it. The danger hair negro companion I didn't even get until the postgame because she seemed a generic quest NPC and I declined her escort.
And the fact that the lesbian autist's personal quest is nearly triple the length of anyone else, and its just to assemble a retarded lesbian date with the exact payoff you expect was infuriating.
Basically, you were correct to drop it and Cyberpunk would have to be literally a PS2 game to fail to measure up.
Post Reported for: Title needs fixing, can the mods correct this?
I can't, but I think that OP can.
