I think the hyperempathy has another level of it.
They are told to feel super much about The Society and The World and such, while they can't function properly on a small scale. They have panic attacks about The Oppression of The World and Global Warming, while they can't be arsed to treat their immediate family and members of their community nicely or to practice little, logical things that would keep their environment a bit nicer.
Oh, they went to an Extinction Rebellion protest, but cooking at home and not buying shit premade and prepackaged, imported from exotic places is too much. They care about healthcare for the whole world, but they "don't have the spoons" to maybe walk a bit more, lose some weight and drink enough water.

When you see videos like this understand that they aren't made to showcase anything. They're made to gain social credit. It's a bit of performance art they put on to advance themselves. If tomorrow the powers-that-be decided that oh actually ACB is great now you'd see girls like this immediately pivot and come out fully in favor of her pretending that they never did stuff like this crying video.
Realistically I find that it's those and the right that are both more sympathetic and empathetic.
