Give them a 2 hour animated video of the Kings & Generals channel on the Early Islamic Expansion, and tell them to note how many time Islamic conquests involved unprovoked invasions, wholesale slaughter of surrendered armies, the wholesale slaughter of prisoners, the wholesale slaughter of civilians, the wholesale slaughter of civilians and armies escorting them out of Muslim lands as the Islamic armies betrayed their own negotiated peace & surrender terms, and the celebration of all of the above by the Islamic accounts. Also, the lack of accounts from the other side, because the Islamic conquerors attempted to eradicate their enemies from history.
Most distressingly, the common thread among every nation, kingdom, empire, and civilization they encountered and defeated/routed/subjugated/exterminated was a failure to recognize the incredible danger that Islamic Invasions posed. The Early Muslim expansion happened against powers that thought they could manage the threat because they did not understand the size of the threat they were facing, even while Islamic cavalry burned cities.
Rule #1 of dealing with an Islamic incursion: You can not understate the threat. It literally isn't possible to understate it.
