It's possible they've lost a bunch of ad accounts and are running PSAs to fill time. Happens pretty often in the radio industry.

there aren't enough professional clubs (because MLS does everything it can to prevent lower levels from growing to maintain its grip on US soccer) that can pull the best local players in and train them for little to nothing, right now only MLS clubs and a handful of USL Championship clubs can afford to do this at multiple age groups.

Now consider that the 29 MLS teams take players from across the country. There are that many professional teams in London alone, pulling kids in to train them and sell them on if they pan out.

My kid's team has some of the most talented players in our city, and every single one of them would be in a professional academy at some level in the pyramid if we had infrastructure at the level of several european nations.

edit: add to this that there are multiple competing top level leagues, each of which has it's own championships. the youth system in the US is an absolute mess. I probably pay around $7-10k a year between club fees (the cheap part, tbh) and travel because of the level they play at.

BFRPG is essentially a 3.0 core pared waaaaaaay back to approximate BECMI/ b/x as much as possible. OSRIC is going to feel completely different, but since you're asking, I'm assuming you know how 1e 'feels'.

All of the BFRPG products are easily worth what you'd pay for the printed copies on Amazon. Great value for the money.

4e solved some issues, and it created had some issues of its own.

Not exactly what you're asking for, but the 60s and 70s era Legion of Superheroes has a really distinct vibe that might be up your alley.

I was really impressed by the amount of research this guy put in - going so far as to read obituaries to confirm that two brothers both named their kids Joe.

It's so crazy to me for them to have moved to cashless payments - when I lived there 25 years ago (I'm old, sue me) maybe 10% of places would even take a card.

The issue is that the compensation is so unfair. It should be 1/365 of your current year taxable income per day served, which you can estimate to get an immediate payout that's adjusted when you file. Employers should be prohibited from paying salary to prevent double-dipping.

Either this or the employers should be required to pay their employee (including the hourlies) while on jury duty. I don't know which one is the better option, you'd have to figure out a way to keep the pay from being known to the attorneys in your suggestion as it could (in theory) be used as a way to save the government money, resulting in a worse jury pool. If I'm on jury duty, I'm getting my salary regardless, so I guess I don't really care, the compensation issue hits non-exempt and hourly employees way harder.

I used to work with the author's childhood friend (they all still meet up a few times a year to play D&D) and would constantly be regaled with stories about how he had just met with Spielberg about getting the book turned into a movie.

I hadn't read the book, so I was lent a copy of it and had to try to come up with nice things to say about it. I love 80s culture as much as the next guy, but let me tell you, it was hard to do.
